ASOK and Baldo are two artists who certainly know how to keep themselves busy. Two big underground names who found time to sit side by side with the next EP from Good Ratio Music. Release dedicated to the 1978's BBC Radio 4 series The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Stu Robinson aka ASOK is someone who has amassed a fine understanding of a wide array of scenes, styles and sounds from d&b to electro funk, disco to house and techno. With 20 years record collecting and almost 15 years DJing, the music this producer releases is an amalgamation of all that and more. It has found favour with esteemed labels like Use of Weapons, M>O>S, Lobster Theremin and Mule Musiq, plus running his own Scenery imprint. On this GRM's release his tracks are clearly marked by a dark influence. Two cuts fulled with analog feelings that come across to you with a crunchy, distorted and saturated soul.

On the flip we have Baldo, an artist who has truly caught the house essence with his own deep vision. The man who 6 years ago started from scratch in Barcelona is today one of the artists that represent the future of the city. Currently resident of the unknown Razzmatazz, Baldo is no newcomer to the scene, having been involved for the last ten years. He completes the vinyl with drum clusters of his "707” adding a melancholic vibe, elements that accentuate the vision he brings together with his machines. Both tracks have a greater variety of layers and samples, and its rhythm change is more "infectious" as a result. Each of these tracks work straight out of the gate, and can add to any DJ’s record bag.

ASOK - Probability Drive

For their second release, LBL present another Various Artist EP featuring the talents of Ste
Spandex (Red Laser Disco, Wet Play), ASOK (MOS Deep, Scenery), Causa (Tusk Wax) and
Colours in Waves (20/20 Vision).

Cutting his teeth at Oddball Manchester musical institutions Red Laser Disco and Wet Play, has lead Ste Spandex to embrace a wealth of sounds reflecting Techno, West Coast Funk, Chicago
House and Electro Boogie. “OH” see’s Ste showcasing his darker side, with a relentless chugging and crunchy beat that gives
way to driving close which belies the track's relatively low tempo. Never one to shy away from his oddball 80’s leanings, the entire track was recorded through tape… VHS Tape… to complete its
unique lo fi feel.

ASOK is the man behind Scenery Records. Since starting the project in the last couple of years his music has been released on labels including MOS Deep, Mule Musiq, Photic Fields and London
Housing Trust. These endorsements alone should be a sure sign of the type of quality House he releases, and we’re pleased to say we believe that his track “Grid Runner” is representative of some of his finest work, showcasing a classical yet off kilter approach which breathes some much needed excitement in to the tropes of machine made House Music.

Causa is the alias of Joe Lucas. A former record shop owner, with the necessary wealth of influences that the role entails. Joe has been quietly making music for many years but now labels are beginning to pick up on the artists prolific output of music. “Seven” is a dark and druggy slab of deepness. Techno on 33rpm, but with enough drive and hypnotic atmosphere to keep the attention and move the feet.
The final track on this release comes from relative new comer, Colours in Waves. His track, Conservation of Momentum is quite hard to pin down, being equal parts Techno, House and dare
we say Trance (the good Trance) and Prog (the good Prog). It also manages to veer between a range of emotions, which lends the track some hefty pathos that make it potential anthem material." Frankly speaking, the track is huge, but never overblown, which we think is one of the most delicate balancing acts possible, and which makes us very very excited at the prospect of further tunes from the artist.

As with all LBL releases, these tracks will be released digitally, as well as on a limited vinyl run of 300 copies.

7 months ago, we premiered a track from Dalmata Daniel first release by DJ Overdose. Dalmata Daniel presents now it’s second release from the Japan based producer 99LETTERS. He has been active for 8 years now and his several music came out on labels such as french house Série Limitée and british techno label Seagrave. 

His new material  the ‘Untold Future’ is a hardware based, dynamic and solid four tracks EP which includes a dub version from ‘Neo Life’ by the young german newfound TRP, who’s debut EP was released earlier this year by the lo-fi bearer Lobster Theremin. 

The A side contains two warm house jams with smooth ambience. As ‘Neo Life’ is like a solid deep dream, ‘Untold Future’ more drives you into a breezy floating new morning. 

Meanwhile on B side you’ll find polished techno cuts. ‘Cooper’ comes with straight drums, hypnotic driven synths and bass-line and it’s ready to heat up the floor. ‘Neo Life TRP dub’, premiered here, is more like a reinterpretation from the original one, it’s hazy, faster, and injected with acid hotness. Both of them were born to play out loud !
