A little more info on the Push Play album. 
A load of top names from the world of beats and bass music are donating a track each to a double-CD compilation album in support of a leukaemia charity. The comp has been inspired by the untimely passing of Sonia Akow, a DJ, label A&R and PR associate who was immersed in the scene until she died a year ago.
Sonia was diagnosed with leukaemia in November 2012, and a plea was put out for a bone marrow donor. The beats and bass scene united to stage a benefit gig in March 2013, raising nearly £15,000 for various leukaemia charities, but sadly Sonia lost her fight for life on July 3rd 2013.
Fresh from working with Skrillex, the Ragga Twins appear with Aquasky on the compilation, and other names to donate a track include Deekline, the Freestylers, Atomic Hooligan, T-Power, Pyramid & Jay Cunning, Ben & Lex, the Moody Boyz, Rennie Pilgrem and Lawgiverz. The 25-track collection is being released next month on Botchit & Scarper, and is entitled 'Push Play' — named after Sonia's PR operation, Push Promotions. Many of those involved worked with Sonia during her time promoting underground music in the industry over the past 15 years.
All proceeds from the comp go to the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT). The compilation album follows a benefit gig in south London last month, with many of the same artists appearing, plus names like Maxi Jazz from Faithless.

Push Play album preview Mix by Terry Hooligan (The Remix XFM 08/08/14)

At the start of 2013 Mekar, Trimer & Smokesta decided to link up to to pool their creativity and work on their new project Fireteam. 

Mekar is no stranger to the rave scene. His lyrical flow has been tearing down raves from London to Ibiza with many apperences on radio stations such as the legendary Kool Fm, BBC 1 xtra & Kiss FM 
2014 saw the release of his self written and prodcued Drum & Bass debut album ‘First to Arrive’ which showcases his talent as a producer aswell as a MC. 
Smokesta, as a DJ, he has been present on the scene for a number of years, playing regularly on stations such Kool Fm as well as at various Drum & Bass raves across the capital. He has had solo releases on Emotif with radio support on radio from the likes of Eddy Temple Morris on XFM & The Wideboys on KISS FM. 
Trimer’s vibe and passion for the music really comes across through his energic and explosive DJ sets. He currently holds a residency on the award winning station Rough Tempo.

The Fireteam remixed 'You Don't Know Me' for Long-time Botchit artists, Backdraft to a rapturous reception with support coming hard and fast from some of the biggest names in the Drum & Bass scene including Crissy Criss, Doc Scott, Grove Rider & North Base, plus support from outside the scene in the form of B-Traits, ED Solo & JFB. 

This time around, Fireteam have gone on a slightly more bass music flex. 
'Hitlist' and 'Traptastic' will have you head nodding like a Youg Jeezy at a Flosstradamus gig. While 'Who's that Girl' gets all floaty with a very recognisable vocal until the gnarly bass hits and leave you screw facing the stack!

Over the past 15 years the internationally renowned Botchit and Scarper label has amassed an impressive roster of artists and an astounding back catalogue of releases that has ensured it has remained at the forefront of electronic music and continued to prosper through the unrelenting evolution of the music industry.

Established in 1995 by business partners Vini Medley and Martin Love, the founders of pioneering Jungle record label SOUR, Botchit has gone from strength to strength thanks to its forward thinking and progressive music policy and its unique emphasis on artist development and loyalty. 

Releasing over 70 singles and 30 LPs, Botchit has played a key role in helping to break acclaimed artists like Atomic Hooligan, Aquasky, FreQ Nasty and Deekline & Wizzard as well as continuing to support artists like T Power and B.L.I.M. (who had previously been housed on the SOUR and Emotif record labels) as they started to explore new territory. In more recent times, the label has been helping to push more new talent with releases from exciting prospects like Flore and Son Of Kick.
