Hi-Hi, Friends (^-^) Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of being part of Denver House Music's #HouseTherapy monthly series at Beacon: Denver. I had also just figured out that my Tascam DR-40 could record both my mix and the crowd noise simultaneously. Thought I'd test it out to really give it that LIVE feel. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to mess with the EQs in Audacity to make it sound less clippy (the cable for my Tascam wasn't long enough so it captured most of the sounds coming from the booth monitors). #HouseTherapy (LIVE DJ Set at BEACON: RiNo; Denver, CO) [2-11-2023]

Hi-Hi, Friends (^-^) If you recall, I made a submission a few months ago to DJ for Denver's Colorado Anime Fest 2023. Well, guess what? I got one of the timeslots! I played their Saturday Rave called Code:APEX (3-11-2023) from 11pm-12am. It's nice to jam out with fellow weebs and gamers. T'was also my first convention I've DJ'd at and it was a frickin' BLAST! Big "Domo-Arigats" to ReadyOrNot for suggesting I try out and an even bigger "Thank You x Infinity" to DJ GreenFlow for giving me the opportunity to DJ the event. BotoSessions: Code:APEX (LIVE DJ Set at ColoradoAnimeFest 2023) [3.11.2023]

Here's a little ThrowbackThursday from when I DJ'd at Bounce Empire on August 31, 2023. Initially, the group had decided on it being an "Anime-Themed" night so I thought I'd just play a few tracks from my set at Colorado Anime Fest earlier this year. However, while waiting on my timeslot, I quickly realized that no one really stuck with the theme so I decided to mess around with a few tracks I haven't tried yet. I've kinda been obsessed with the K-Pop group NewJeans and the whole "JerseyClub/B'More Club" sound as well as getting back into UKGarage (I think you can hear the obvious tonal shift once NewJeans comes in). I think at this point, I started to be a little more relaxed and just decided to have a little more fun with it.

For full transparency, this isn't the actual live recording (like I've been doing recently). This is just me recording the history that got saved onto my USB. Plus, despite bringing my Tascam DR-40 recorder and setting it up, I honestly forgot to hit Record. But I guess that's a good thing because it turns out one of the leads on my cable is damaged so it's ONLY recording in Mono for some dumb reason (I just bought that cable, too.....). Also, I typically don't play whole tracks but I did on a few that night to fill out the hour. I don't recall which tracks but this recording falls a couple minutes short of that hour. Oh, well. It's all good. Anywho, I hope you enjoy this different sound I'm messing with. If you like what you hear, let me know what you think. And, as always, Happy Listenings and Enjoy~

TASCAM DR-40

BotoSessions: DJ Set at Bounce Empire [8.31.2023]

Hello Again, my friends (^-^) Temple has [more or less] started to become my second home. It's always nerve-racking to get on the Main Stage for "SpaceShip Duties" but it's just as much an honor/privilege to be up there. I'm always unsure of myself but I have to look at it this way: If the people/staff of a venue didn't trust my ability to perform well, they wouldn't have reached out to me in the first place. That being said, I think this might have to be my favorite set I've done at both Temple Main Stage and LVL. Even more so, I got to let loose a little bit and show more of my personality than play it safe. It was great handing things off to local BassHouse legend JVCKPOT. Homie definitely rocked the house something proper. Also, it was most certainly a pleasure to share the line-up with the amazing Capozzi. It was awesome getting to chat with her for a bit. Plus, we were both rocking the Panda Dunks (she had the Highs; I had the Lows) so that was neat~

SideNote: My birthday recently passed [November 28th, to be precise] so I'm considering this as "Birthday DJ Set 1" from the weekend (^.~)

Lately, I've been bringing my TASCAM DR-40 to record my sets live rather than recording my play history after the fact. There's something about hearing the crowd interacting with the music that just can't be duplicated. That being said, I apologize for the audio quality of this one. That's on me, however. I'll have to find better spots to place my recorder for the most optimal sound as well as tinker with the settings a little more. Anyways, despite all that, I hope you give it a listen and like what you hear. Feel free to let me know what you think. If it'll help me get better, then I'm all for it. And thanks again to Temple: Denver for giving me another opportunity to play the main stage. I'm forever grateful for your trust in me to open your amazing venue. BotoSessions: DJ Set RECORDED LIVE at Temple Denver Main Stage; Support for Capozzi [12.1.2023]

I had the opportunity & pleasure to play at this spot called 1134 Broadway (it's literally next door to Temple). I initially thought it was just a temporary pop-up (the place itself doesn't have any Socials that I could find) but here we are a year or so later and it's still running strong! After playing some harder/heavier stuff the night before, I REALLY wanted to try something different this time around. Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure if it was gonna work but I think it turned out rather well. I think one of the [many] things that warmed my heart was hearing DJs that know me be taken completely off guard by this change-up of styles/genres. Also, I'm still considering this weekend as "belated birthday weekend" so I'm counting this as "Birthday DJ Set 2." It was also very nice that my older sister brought birthday cake, mini cupcakes, and lumpia for everyone that came through.

Same thing as before, I recorded my DJ Set with my Tascam DR-40. I wanted to record everyone else's set in that room but the recorder was being very strange. You'll hear the ambient noise fluctuates in volume for some strange reason or another and I can't figure out why. But it's kinda need that the audio bounces back between the Direct Recording and the Mic Recording (there's a little charm to it with this genre).

Anywho, Thanks for everyone that came out and celebrated my birthday with me and danced off a bit of that cake and lumpia; big thank you to my sister for bringing food; and an even bigger thank you to 1134 Broadway and the DHM Crew for having me. BotoSessions: Code:APEX (LIVE DJ Set at ColoradoAnimeFest 2024) [3.16.2024]

Hello-Hello Friends (^-^)~! A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of joining up with Elevation Effect and guest-DJ'd for their Basement Sessions at The Church Nightclub (May 17th). I had brought my Tascam DR-40 to record my set (even had it hooked up and everything). Unfortunately, I was too chicken-sh*t to hit the RECORD button. So unfortunately, no live recording of this DJ set. Luckily, I still had the play history saved on my USB so I recorded it at a later time. I should note that I hadn't practiced since probably my set at COAF. Always being insecure about my abilities (as well as forgetting what the basement crowd at The Church is like), I decided to play it safe and do a mix of tracks from previous sets. by the looks of things, it appears that the people that were there enjoyed it. So that's always a plus. Also, I just recently found out that the RIGHT channel of my recorder isn't working so it's only pulling audio from the LEFT (from the Mixer recording. External Recordings are working fine, apparently). Because of this, I had to figure out how to make this MONO recording into a STEREO one. I'm not a producer so I just YouTubed some tutorials in Audacity and it worked out. Sound Quality isn't the greatest but it'll do. Anywho, give it a listen and let me know what you think. BotoSessions: Elevation Effect Presents The Basement Sessions at The Church Nightclub [5.17.2024]

Hello Again friends (^_^) Around the middle of June, one of my friends at Temple Denver had shot my name to one of her buddies based in Texas that was doing a traveling tour for Ghost Data and needed a local to open things up. She said I was the first person that came to mind (a weeb that DJs). Admittedly, I was a little concerned because Ghost Data and Korgi (the DJ after me) are more Bass-Focused (so more Dubsteppy things, I suppose?) so I wasn't sure where I'd fit in. However, I've done Colorado Anime Fest 2 years in a row (2023 & 2024) so I guess I should be confident in that. But it was "Ero-Anime" themed so I wasn't sure how the crowd would react to my style. BotoSessions: ClubKaiju - 'Ara-Ara' Ero-Anime Rave [Recorded Live] [6.27.2024]

Hello-Hello, Friends (^-^) So roughly around this time last year (to be specific, it was Aug.11, 2023), I was asked to be the opening DJ for the fantastic No Mana. Listening to that mix, there's certainly things that I could've done better. Admittedly, I'm still kicking myself for the dumb mistakes I made. Over the last year, I've certainly learned a little more as well as become [slightly] more confident in my ability/style.

Flash-Forward to the present. One of the Talent Managers at Temple: Denver says "Hey, we need you to do Direct Support from now on. How would you like to be Direct Support for No Mana when he comes back?" In my head, I'm immediately telling myself that this is my 'Redemption Arc' from my blunder(s) from my set last year. But now, I'm even more nervous/terrified because this is my first gig in the "Direct Support" slot. Given that time slot, it'll also be my biggest crowd (in a club) that I've DJ'd for. Pressure's on, for sure.

BotoSessions: DJ Set RECORDED LIVE at Temple Denver; Direct Support for No Mana [7.19.2024]

Story Time:
I had JUST finished my first Direct Support slot for No Mana at Temple:Denver [7.19.2024]. I'd like to think I was decent enough to [mayhaps] be considered for another Direct Support slot but I didn't want to get my hopes up. Feed Me was shortly announced to headline at the end of the year and I thought to myself "You know what? That would be SUPER dope to be on the lineup for that night." I didn't think too much of it because I just thought there'd be someone more talented/deserving that'd get it. I'd be happy to just be in attendance~

Flash-Forward to days before the night and I wake up to an email asking "What are the chances you're available this Saturday for the opening slot for Feed Me?"  Immediately, I say "Yes". I later get a follow-up email saying "Bumping you up to Direct Support. You down?"

DAFUQ~!? Duuuuuuude.......There's absolutely NO WAY I could turn this down. Of course, I had a few concerns: Was I really good enough to handle Direct Support for FEED ME? To my understanding, the original DD had to switch slots because she had another gig later that night. She's a DnB/Dubstep girlie so I wasn't exactly confident with transitioning from 174 to 128-130 with minimal drop in energy. However, I do like the challenge and figuring out how to problem-solve. Admittedly, it's not my cleanest set but certainly one of the most fulfilling~

Hello, Friend-o's (^-^) To be honest, I have a bunch of other Live Mixes that I should've uploaded from the past few months but haven't gotten around to merging the mixer recording with the ambient recording to give that live feel. That being said, THIS particular recording wasn't recorded live. I asked if I could hook up my Tascam to record the evening but they already had something plugged into the REC OUT of the mixer. Supposedly, the venue was recording video of the night and that we MIGHT get it emailed to us but that remains to be seen. In the meantime, I decided to just record my set once I got back home.
