Bottom Side Up is the coalition of two well-seasoned musicians who were looking to expand their musical horizons:  
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jay Nemor is an American / Icelandic singer, saxophonist, songwriter, producer, and actor.  He is deeply connected to the very roots of soul, funk, RnB and gospel music.  Jay has released two solo albums, 4 collaborative albums and a host of solo and collaborative singles.  He signed with Tesla Groove International Recordings, based in Italy, in 2018.  He imparts his message with his signature baritone-bass voice. On the other end we have Cristo Sanchez, who has been involved in the Norwegian metal and punk/hardcore scene for the last two decades in various forms. As bass player, guitarist and vocalist he has been the founder and co-founder of several bands, including hardcore band Decaying Womb, groove-metal band South and avant-garde band The Glutton. Decaying Womb has released three EP's in the underground scene, where performances at the stage at Blitz and Housmania were prominent. South has released two full length albums, while The Glutton are a touring band with several albums released.

Near a decade after first meeting and establishing a friendship, Jay and Cristo found a common love in the foundation of Blues, Funk, Soul and old school Rhythm and Blues, and decided to create a new project. The goal was to keep everything that they loved about the old blues sound, but add new elements of modern music, so they have now formed Bottom Side Up - a combination of all these elements, with some dirt from their past musical experiences thrown in for good measure.  A summer 2024 EP release is in the making.
