The trio name is a pun on the word Shakuhachi with the famous and one of the foremost world music fusion bands Shakti blending Indian classical music with the west.

Amine Bouhafa is a composer, orchestrator and musical director. He composed the score for « Timbuktu » a film by awarded director Abderrahmane Sissako which had been nominated for an academy award and for which Amine won the Cesar award of best original score.
