 First pressing in very limited red 180g vinyl.

Andre Kronerts seminal EXU EP gets a comprehensive rework from some of the most outstanding on the scene. Tense and sinister new cuts from Kronert introduce both sides of the release, whilst the label calls upon remixes from Berlin mainstays Efdemin and Ed Davenport, as well as Hollands finest export Juan Sanchez, plus Stockholm LTD label boss Par Grindvik alongside fellow Swede Peder Mannerfelt.

Retaining the slurred vocal of the original, Efdemin layers thundering effects over chasmic bass in his mix of Into The Zone, which saw heavy rotation last year. Meanwhile Davenport brings a wild yet streamlined intensity to C.O.D.E.2.
Side B sees Grindvik team up with Mannerfelt to provide a joint interpretation of Into The Zone, which they manipulate into a peak-time epic, with a soaring melody over hammering toms. Finally, Juan Sanchez channels funk through Roll The Dice with a twitchy, groove-laden rework.

The spirit of EXU is made physical once again via 12 inches and 27 minutes of wax.

Highly anticipated by both fans and music critics, Fossil Archive 003 is a blanket of techno adulation, full of sky-high feeling through its warm and expansive energy.

‘Perisphinctes’ which received a radio exclusive on B.Traits’ BBC Radio 1 show in August, marks itself as part of the vanguard of modern techno. Purposely incompatible with the masses, it clearly lends itself to the underground, pushing its charisma in the direction of the label’s earthy vociferation. With its driving montage, its monolithic kick and general depth, it holds its own in any given setting.

Evoking a weighty hospitality of sound, ‘Tiziani’ supplements bleak with feel-good synth exertion. Straying from the conventional framework of techno, this is a stripped back, atonal portrait of effectual techno culture. Without confusion, this unblemished and wholesome howl of voice brings with it a rich, affable buzz, perfectly suiting both the big room and more intimate homely surroundings.

For Roberto, this far-reaching release imposes on none and invites all to clinch its hauntological embrace, and with previous releases gathering support from the who’s who of Techno, it’s sure to do just that.

The Incoming by Jesse Calosso
Jesse Calosso is a Bronx-born DJ and producer, part of a tight clique of New York artists that includes such luminaries as The Martinez Brothers and Filsonik. 2015 has been a busy year for him. Not only has he completed a mix-tape style album as Masters at Dutch with The Martinez Brothers and Blas Cordero, but also his tracks “Serving Size” and “Whatever Right Now” appeared on the Tuskegee EP “The Come Up Vol 1”. He has DJ-d at Output in Brooklyn, Circoloco in Ibiza and at Seth Troxler’s Acid Future party in London to name but three. Now, he releases a brand new four-track EP called “The Incoming” on Cuttin’ Headz.
“The Incoming” is a diverse collection of tracks that shows a real maturing of Calosso’s style. As far as influences are concerned, he says “It all goes back to disco”, and speaks fondly of his father’s “attic full of vinyl.” No doubt it was this variety of early musical starting points that led him to create “The Incoming”.
The EP starts with “This is 140”, a rhythmic builder with crisp drums, filtered, cut-up sampled vocals and a funky bassline. Next up is “9AM”, an acid-tinged track with hypnotic soundscapes and spacey washes. “Scratch That” brings the tempo up with its tougher, techy sound. Finally, “Knocking” is a main room thumper with an agitated bass hook beneath a sinister top line synth motif.
While he cites the likes of DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Robert Armani and Robert Hood as influences, with “The Incoming” Calosso has begun to carve out his own unique sound that will ensure his work stands up against that of his idols.
