Opening track ‘Done Me Wrong' unfurls perfectly, with all the hallmarks of classic garage production; rough, ominous low end and a jacking, infectious beat. The B-side, ‘Bax’, builds on this formula although it focuses more on the punishing, physical side of the bassline. With both these tracks, Mosca’s aim is to make your feet work overtime.

Mixpak Records released the Dre Skull produced Vybz Kartel album “Kingston Story” over the summer to much fanfare (Vybz Kartel Fader cover, New York Times feature, Dazed and Confused feature, etc). The album debuted at Number seven on the Billboard top-selling Reggae Album charts and the first single “Go Go Wine” received radio play around the world, getting support on Kingston radio, Hot 97, BBC Radio 1, and more.

This fall Mixpak is finally ready to roll out "Half On A Baby," the second single from the album. On it's own, "Half On A Baby" is a proper Caribbean dancehall/pop anthem, but when combined with remixes from some of the most exciting names in underground bass music it becomes something more.

Recent Mixpak signee Dubbel Dutch takes "Half On A Baby" deep into the underground without losing sight of the melodicism that makes the original so enticing. Another member of the Mixpak fam, Schlachtofbronx, flips the track on it's head, turning it into a tempo-shifting Power Soca heavy hitter.

The high voltage ‘Electricity’ kicks things off with the sensational voice of Anabel Englund leading the way. The deep, slow grooves ride effortlessly through the track with a breath-taking break down filled with electric bolts and melodic synth keys.

‘Goodnight Moon’ is the second on offer from Lee and Marc and boasts a heavy bass, beautiful synths patterns and infectious groove. The atmosphere in the track is filled with layers of intricate percussions and luscious melodies, while the interesting vocals make this really stand out from the rest.

Over on the B-side Lee takes the reins with ‘Could Be’, effortlessly swarming the mind with soaring synths, soft R n’B style vocals and lo-slung driving bass lines, while the trippy keys are destined to hypnotize you on the dancefloor.

Rounding off ‘B5 the Dinks’ is aimed straight at the dancefloor. Packed full of groove with an intoxicating bassline, the high-pitched warbling keys, vocals and crowd noises add a new dimension and make this a real party track. (Maouris)

A-side ‘Tone Music’ builds with a melodic structure of electronic droplets as rattling percussion does the driving. A n injection of techno wonk stabs blended with pitched down RnB sampling, ‘Tone Music’ is a sonic patchwork of futuristic beams and bleeps, synth shards, and shakers.
Moving into crackling, dubby terrain, ‘Lo To Hi’ is a spooky affair with solid claps and a nifty little bassline groove. As warped vocal snippets float into the atmosphere, the swirling pads serve to envelop the senses and build a sense of tension and drama up to the break.
In keeping with the slower vein and bathed in warm, ethereal pads, ‘Doldrums’ builds with distorted synth melodies and chopped up vox until the rise of drums, and unexpected drop of heavy bassline throb along with subtle twists of acid swerve into the mix.
