Critical Monday’s 14 Chapter is ready to fly, and this is a big one, peeps: Australian hot act Iain Mac aka Stockholm Syndrome (SXDNS165) debuts on the rising French label, curated with iron fist and love by Bonnie Spacey, with two interesting cuts: The dance floor banger “Liberty & Pursuit” and the introspective slo-mo “Servitude”, the one we were solicited to premiere, by the way. The two originals by themselves would be already more than enough to make the fans of dark grooves consider the release an indispensable one, then they check the artists on the remix duties – Chinaski, the headliner of our 1st event after the lockdown (https://ra.co/events/1527252), and Back From The Wave, part of our Takeover on Espacio Cielo (https://sxdns.de/takeover/002) –, that’s when they realise there’s no other option besides considering the release an indispensable one.

“Servitude” is a spookiness-infused piece with an ominous and frightening atmosphere devoted to sending shivers down the spine especially because of its eerie piano line – played by Pennywise –, and creepy vocals – sung by Pinhead. All joking aside, what we have here is another example of Iain’s versatility and creativity, no wonder he is considered one of the big guns amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene.

Meyer is currently involved in “From the Vaults” podcast, which already has numerous artists confirmed, and is looking to push forward the underground scene which spills with talent

Nick Hanzo is a DJ from Vienna with high passion for music production. He runs the label Belly Dance Services and after earning spurs as half of 'Hanzo & Yaman' he recently started some new projects; i.e. 'das molekuel' with his wife Geraldine, or a series of quirky dance tracks with A-Tweed from Rome. In his mix for Electric Shapes Nick Hanzo mixes up lo-fi cassette soundscapes with timeless club bangers and unreleased gems from the home studio. Enjoy!

@radondo steps up for our return. Jordan first came across Jimmy through playing for his rooftop party “Tropicle Popsicle” in London and they’ve stayed in touch since. 💛

Now based in Berlin, Radondo has been steadily accruing a string of well received releases on Wrong Era, Ritmo Fatale and Loose Fit Records. His busy gig calendar also logs dates in Madrid, Tallinn, Vilnius, Berlin and London with plenty lined up for 2023.

A call from Turkey and the world to all music enthusiasts!

On February 6, 2023 Turkey and Syria were struck by two massive earthquakes (7,7 - 7,6 on the richter scale) in one day. The severity of the earthquake, the size of the area, the demographic and the large number of people being caught unprepared, combined with the harsh weather conditions, dramatically heightened the effects of this disaster. Since then a lot of local and global efforts have been put together to gather and transfer urgent help to the area, however these efforts are unfortunately inadequate in the face of the size of this catastrophic event. In a bid to help our country and its neighbours, Müstesna Records (TR) have decided to put together a relief compilation in collaboration with Ransom Note on their Dance Music From Planet Earth compilation label (UK).

As of now 48 artists from around the globe have contributed some of their beautiful work. The compilation will be released in two parts with the first part shared on Wednesday 1st March. If we all unite as music listeners, nightlife enthusiasts and all those in between, we will be stronger in size and strength.

Music brings us all together, regardless of our geographic location. We hope that everyone falling under this roof believes in sharing beautiful collective memories, as well as tragedies.
