Alan Backdrop - Mind Pressure

Paul Weck is a vinyl DJ and promoter based in Weimar with roots in Stuttgart. As the co-founder of the Architecture and Music Collective 'Niemandsland' as well as 'X²', he expresses his spatial understanding of musical spaces in his DJ sets, events, and in a theoretical study called 'MUSIC AS SPACE'.


"During my seven-month internship in Brussels, I encountered two new situations: Firstly, I received my first salary, and secondly, I was surrounded by proper record stores in the city where I lived in. These circumstances led to a consistently empty bank account and loads of records that I couldn't even organize in my music discography because I didn't brought my turntables to Brussels. This mix is one of three in which I process my time and the music I discovered while living in a big city for the first time. 

The track selection in this mix is heavily influenced by the incredible Draaimolen set of "Jasss b2b Blawan," which was released during that time and became my most listened set on SoundCloud. I was trying to recreate those outstanding shifts in genres and rhythms without letting individual tracks dominate the set (or me, lol). 

In the end, what sounds so easy through the hands of Blawan and Jasss obviously wasn't that easy because most of the tracks, especially on vinyl with no loop function, sort of ask for an outstanding position and aren't easy to deal with as tools. I did my best to handle those beauties, and I'm honestly really happy that this is the result. I hope my idea comes through. Enjoy!“

Pero no para siempre, ESC pipol nos tomamos un break pa desconectar un poco de toa la vorágine que son las rrss y para reconectar un poco con materia prima necesaria para seguir empujando ESCAPARATE con más ganas. 

Para despedir la sison/seson/sason hemos querido invitar a Luis Alejandro Reyes González AKA Katire. Born in Margarita, Venezuela pero instalado desde hace algún tiempo en Rotterdam, bebe de la influencia de sellos como Hayes, Klockworks, Delsin, Hayes, Drawner, Self Reflektion, entre otros. Katire es parte del colectivo Malaonda y nos brinda 57 minutos de música cargada de extra energí y vibraxiones para encarar el otoño. 

Set reflexivo lleno de texturas, ritmos grooveros que lo convierten en una sesión muy sexxy para el oído. 

Asique ya sabéis: ¡ESCUCHA, COMPARTE, BAILA!

\ Pizza con o sin piña?
Soy fan de echarle dulce a lo salao, así que always piña.

\ Peor regalo que te hayan hecho
Afortunadamente no se me ha marcado a mal ninguno de los regalos que me han hecho... Aunque dicen que el cerebro tiende a eliminar los malos recuerdos

\ Un sueño por cumplir?
Tener una casa con un buen salón en el que poder liarla cuando quiera. Y otra pa mis padres.

\ Dj / productor referentes?
Blawan podría ser un buen ejemplo. Fue uno de los primeros productores que conocí y hasta el día de hoy la mayoría de música y sets que ha sacado son una locura. Aunque últimamente me estoy obsesionando con FTP Doctor, el productor del maravilloso tema con el que abro el set.

\ Canción favorita?
Para mí esto es como elegir entre papá y mamá. Creo que siempre hay un tema adecuado para cada momento, según el mood. Pero si tuviera que elegir un tema que me llega hasta lo más hondo de la patata durante más tiempo, podría ser Exoplanet Vibe Cult, de No Moon.

ALYAK.
is a DJ from the Stuttgart area and co-founder of Grauzone Records. About 8 years ago his interest in electronic music was awakened and shortly after he already found himself behind the decks. In 2018, he founded the Grauzone collective together with friends and organized various events in the southwest of Germany. For this podcast, Alyak focuses on his linear, rhythm-based sound that best reflects his personal identity. He cleverly combines different grooves with versatile synth sounds to create a mix that is characterized by a distinct attention to detail.

STEFAN MILEV.
Is a Stuttgart base Photographer who has his roots in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Stefans Work shows dynamic silhouettes in an innovative confrontation with the classical practice of photography. Together with Phil Hoffmann he runs SHPH Series.

I’ve loved his sound since we shared a bill for Tiriba x 01366 at the back end of last year and as a FrixXion Resident alongside Blasha & Allatt - two of the best in the game - of course he’s gone from strength to strength in 2023. it was one of those where us never having played together before didn’t seem to matter - expect techno with a heavy house influence, dredged in loops & hypnotics.
