Mit der Along The Years LP gibt es jetzt eine genre-fluide Tracksammlung von Borisson die ihn in den Jahren 2019 - 2021 bei dem Erleben der Drum&Bass Kultur in der Leipziger Szene begleitet haben.

Unterteilt ist der Release in die vier Abschnitte Belong, Despair, Overcome & Acknowledge die verschiedene Entstehungsabschnitte des Albums sowie die Einflüsse aus Liquid Funk, Dub und Autonomic chronologisch geordnet widerspiegeln.

„Das ‚Leidenschaftskapitel Drum&Bass‘ – das gab’s und gibt’s schon ziemlich lange:

Sei es die ersten Male Auflegen im Club mit der Hometown City Gang, die erste Connection zur Leipziger Szene beim Neonlight Production Workshop, das legendär-stimmungsgeladene Aufeinandertreffen von Makoto und DJ Marky (‚the dream team of old school liquid funk‘) im Gretchen, diese eine Leipzig City Dub Tech BSSMSSG mit Another Channel und Babe Roots oder doch auch einfach nur die etlichen Calibre Gigs, die ich zwischenzeitlich wie ein Jünger besuchte, „weil der Dude ja nie in Deutschland spielt“: Griessmühle Berlin, Stadtgarten Köln und zuletzt Calibre bei BoundlessBeatz in der Distillery Leipzig.

Für mich ist Along The Years ein wertschätzender Rückblick auf die frühen Jahre dieses Kapitels Drum&Bass, in denen die innere Leidenschaft besonders hellflatternd loderte (denn dang! diese Flamme war grell!) und für mich einen sozial sowie auch kulturell unanfechtbar erfüllenden Stellenwert einnahm. Umso schöner ist es, das Album über Boundless Beatz releasen zu können, die nebst 2Guys1Dub essenzieller Bestandteil dieses Konstrukts waren.

On 19th April 2024 the album of a well-known face of the Leipzig scene will be released - Borisson is releasing the "Along The Years LP" via Boundless Beatz in a local collaboration. In advance, four tracks of the digital long player mastered by Bukez Finezt will be released as an EP on 5th April 2024 to put a spotlight on the dance floor-dedicated sounds of the LP.

With the "Along The Years LP" Borisson brings a musical reflection of becoming part of the drum & bass scene in Leipzig and the evolvement of his passion for this culture. The development of social constructs, the experience of club cultural highlights and the acceptance of musical influences are rounded off in a package that, above all, brings a lot of vibe. The whole work is tightly
interwoven and reflects the charm of the Leipzig scene surprisingly well - open, and both modern and classic.

The tracks are not quick fun for in-between. Instead, length and structure want their space to accommodate both - constant and accentuated parts. The resulting feeling is therefore more reminiscent of times when longplayers were seen as just that - when mixtapes were handed over and sets enjoyed repeated attention. However, this does not mean that the label "old school" can be used blankly. The sound and aesthetics are completely holding up with
the spirit of the present time. Only the three-minute banger with an eight-time drop will not be found here, but for sure an attention-deserving track compilation that accurately directs the listener through genre-space.

A mysterious crackling noise, dubby, echoed chords, and the foreshadowing of an abysmal bass greet us on "Jigjag", the opening track of the "Along The Years LP" by Leipzig producer Borisson.
With his LP for Boundless Beatz he crafts a musical reflection of becoming part of the drum & bass scene in Leipzig and the evolvement of his passion for this culture. The development of social constructs, the experience of club cultural highlights and the acceptance of musical influences are rounded off in a package that, above all, brings a lot of vibe.
In times when concentration spans and tracks seem to be getting shorter and shorter, Borisson and Boundless Beatz take a different approach and present us music that you can lose yourself in. To create his very own vibe, he uses the full length of the tracks without drifting off into dullness. This is perfectly shown on "Jigjag", one of the slower tracks on the LP.
Dubtechno echoes meet arrangements that are reminiscent of dubstep and downbeats, completely engaging the listener and taking them on a journey. On the 7 minute long ride, you'll always spot new, fitting elements that merge into already known structures and rhythms that will feed your brain and soul.

"Jigjag" will be released on 19 April as a digital download & stream on the Boundless Beatz label.
