Rebekah has established herself as one of the leading exponents of techno currently operating on the global circuit. Her love affair with the harder sounds stretches back to the legendary Que Club in her hometown of Birmingham where she drew influence from the likes of Dave Clarke, Derrick Carter, Richie Hawtin and Billy Nasty. The fact she now shares billing with artists of this calibre is testament not only to her talent, but the way in which her music has been received by the techno community.

This podcast marks the 9th episode of our TNDB-podcast series. We are very happy to welcome one of the best artists of our time: Rebekah. With over more than 20 years of experience behind the decks and a discography that matches her experience, Rebekah has established herself as one of the leading exponents of techno globally.

Her early EP’s on labels like Naked Lunch, Smut Music, and Cult Figures didn’t go unnoticed. Even more recognition came her way with her remix of Matador’s “Blond Slackers”. This remix paved her way into an amazing relationship with Chris Liebing’s label CLR, where she debuted her “Cycles EP” in 2013. Her dark, strong and driven sound was met by a wider audience and they loved it. The ball kept rolling from there on. Rebekah released numerous tracks & EP’s on labels like CLR, her own Decoy Records, MORD, SOMA, Coincidence Records and her new imprint Elements. 

Rebekah has played at BASIS numerous times now and we’re happy to have hosted her only Dutch allnighter this year. She’s an amazing artist and even more amazing person. Enjoy this excerpt of her all night long set in BASIS and be prepared for a banging hour of this power woman.

Hailing from Paris, Dario Brkic aka AIROD is perhaps one of the finest incarnations of what the French techno scene can bring to the table when it comes to turning any cold-walled warehouse into a proper coal-fired furnace. Since he broke through on an international level in 2018 with his debut solo 12" on Molekül, drawing instant support from the likes of Dasha Rush, Blawan, Randomer, Kobosil, to name but a few, AIROD's kept forging his own strain of techno, both dark and muscular, blustery and tirelessly corrosive. A shared bill with French techno ace Amelie Lens at REX Club would soon seal Dario’s fate, prompting Lens to get him on board her highly reputed Exhale parties across the Globe, of which he’s since become a mainstay.

Self-reflective, critical, edgy, highly motivated and passionate about music - artist duo, live-act, DJs or simply spoken Kollektiv Turmstrasse reveal their story of success, which has not always been going into one direction only. Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann have been a scene’s mainstay for a good 20 years; two decades of intensively working, living, traveling, laughing and arguing with each other or, as the both say, ‘having a marriage-like relationship’. But aside from the all too human sides, Nico and Christian provided the community, the scene with several formidable releases like ‘Abenteuer Alltag’, the duo’s first EP on Diynamic, ‘Blutsbrüder’ on their very own label Musik Gewinnt Freunde, ’Rebellion der Träumer’, their album on Connaisseur Recordings, ‘Sry I’m Late’ or their upcoming ‘RibbonReef EP’, just to name a few. But their discography contains more than catchy chord-influenced potential hits, it reveals what’s most important to them, their relationship, what they enjoy in their time off, the everyday life and situations they experience and also unveil certain gaps in-between some of their music. ‘In-between’ seems to be the word that best describes the chat with Christian and Nico as Torture the Artist catches up with Kollektiv Turmstrasse in-between the release of their ‘Noisy Nights’ remixes for Holtoug on Connaisseur Recordings and their first EP, ‘RibbonReef’ on Musik Gewinnt Freunde, after three years. The music collective gives reasons for temporal gaps ‘in-between’ their releases and if you read ‘in-between’ Nico and Christian’s lines you’ll discover what, aside from the obvious and mentioned reasons, is significant to the both at a human and musical level and why they are still as motivated and passionate about what they do as back then when they started - just a little bit more mature, maybe professional but definitely honest and (self)-critical.

Part of the Exil Paris collective, Felicie is one of the most promising dj and producer in the hot Parisian scene.

Her first track ‘Always Online for You’ has been released on Mord Records, part of the Herdersmat Part 23-29, and is a perfect representation of Felicie’s techno : relentless, pounding and raw.

While being one of the winners in the latest Soma Records remix competition, her unreleased material has been supported by household names such as Dax J, Bas Mooy and Cleric.

After playing for several collectives in France, Felicie has now had international bookings in Madrid, London, Montreal or Utrecht, and has played in renowned clubs as Griessmuehle, Jaded, Basis or La Machine du Moulin Rouge.

From high tempo grooves to industrial, Felicie developed her own style, always focusing on giving the crowd an uncompromising and energetic set.

She is now fully focused on working towards her first solo release.
