when the systems of control lose their grip on the masses
all the bullshit that they've thrown will bite them right in their asses

I'm talking about a fundamental flaw in the the design 
of the plan that we've been following for far too much time
and every day i'm a little more certain; that were gonna see the curtain
rise up on this fucked up illusion that's been hurtin' us 
and keeping us back from making a real kind of change
it might seem strange i'm singing home on the range
but we're all just crew on the planetship earth
and it's about time we started recognizing everyones worth

cuz we all got something to say,

we're all just chasing our destiny

if we concede to believe what it is they try to feed to us
they succeed in keeping us in a geosynchronous
orbit of a morbid sordid torpid kind of purpose
round a dark star whose light won't shine farther than an obfuscated
out of whack agenda, these pretenders to the people
with a throne and a steeple and a plan that'll keep all the power in the right hands 
in the left hands out of our hands our demands they decline
as our will and our worries are eventually all left behind

this anxiety is part of me
and constantly it's killing me
I gotta live illegal some days just so i can breathe easy

it's easier to leave it all, to someone else to try to fix
these politics they make me sick but theres no quick solution
absolution is a world away in a world of grey there ain't shit to say
that'll change the way it works, but if we change the way we think
well then we unencumber our own lives of all the folderol and lies
and shit our systems of control produce at our expense
it's getting more expensive and the populations pensive
but i'm still on the fence about if I can make a change, and in the mean-time

and all the fakers all around you want to act like you're the freak

then you got yourself a friend to help you make the colors blend
to paint a better version of the bigger picture and to send
a positive thought wave out to write a scripture that could help to mend
the world at large cuz those in charge would like for us to doubt and worry
'bout each other kill your brother turn your mind off in a hurry
from the actual factual problems they're presenting 
representing us preventing us from asking where they're sending us
pretending they're defending us; ignorance is dangerous

From rock to blues, reggae, prog rock, math metal, punk, folk and country, dubstep, EDM and much more, Bourbon Legend is a group that aims to bring a high level of diversity, both stylistically and in instrumentation, to the stage. This trio utilizes the Ukulele and Ukulele-bass in a highly non-conventional way, essentially replacing the traditional setup of electric guitars, all while retaining the "rocking out" aspect of a high-energy performance.
