Will Magid’s music is always a joyous affair. His unique style of live performance and electronic sampling seamlessly blend original music with sounds from across the globe. Will, who studied ethnomusicology at UCLA, has gathered inspiration from playing music on six of the seven continents. Trumpet is his primary instrument, and Will uses it to convey a multitude of moods … Havana in the summertime, a West African wedding, and a French dance club are just a few of his imagined sonic destinations. Bonobo, Erykah Badu, Pretty Lights, and J-Boogie are just some of the artists that have utilized Will’s talent.

With past releases on the likes of Cold Busted, ESL, and Six Degrees, Will Magid used his own Happy Rabbit imprint to launch the fantastic album Alligator Spacewalk. Performed by ‘The Alligator Spacewalk Orchestra’, the album was a richly layered collection of jazzy tunes featuring a variety of live instrumentation including string and horn sections, top notch vocals, vintage keys, and Will’s own prominent contributions. Just a few months after its release, Happy Rabbit has unveiled a remixed accompaniment to Alligator Spacewalk, fine tuning the tracks for DJs and those who love them. Versions from DJ Smash, DJ Platurn, MarsToday, DJ Theory, Poldoore, Smoked Out Soul, Afrolicious, The Gentlemen Callers of Los Angeles, Yukicito, B. Bravo, Zebuel, and IzzyWise create a diverse and exciting package that spotlights the live musicianship on display while supplying tough beats for the floor. Will Magid / Alligator Spacewalk - The Crown (Smoked Out Soul Remix)

“Stand With Us to Bless the Waters” is our prayer of solidarity for the Lakota Sioux Nation, & all the Water Protectors who have converged in North Dakota Standing Rock Reservation at the Dakota Access Pipeline. This is the first time in centuries that all the indigenous nations of Turtle Island (America) have come together in unity & guardianship for our Earth. This unprecedented tribal convergence has been catalyzed by the pipeline, but is representative of something much larger & more profound than a protest. 

In support for the situation in North Dakota, Amani Friend (Liquid Bloom) and Summit Jaffe (Numatik) were both separately inspired to create music for water and prayer.  Coincidentally, the two tracks were both finished at the same time on fall equinox and they were also written in the same key, making it ideal to interweave them into a one unified piece of music. While sitting in the New Mexico Hot Springs after Unify festival, Amani and Summit had the inspiration to curate this remix album. Producers from all over the world, like Earth Cry, Mystral, Soulacybin, Martin’s Garden, Ecometric, Gumi, and Twin Shape added their unique psychedelic downtempo flavors. Native elders like Black Fox Pomani, John Ball Running Eagle, and Yona FrenchHawk imbued the music with intentional water prayers. United together, we humbly offer this medicinal musical journey in support and healing. Water is Life!

A crew of us came together for a project called Tap the flow 24 to raise money for clean water for a Native tribe. We made a song and video all in 24 hours. We decided to re-release the song to raise more money for Natives affected by covid 19. You can donate at our bandcamp site or stream on spotify to support the project.
