In this hauntingly poignant composition, BK delves into the claustrophobic existence of a robot tethered to a human companion in a disheartening near future. The lyrics poetically capture the struggles of autonomy and the emotional turbulence of an artificial being yearning for freedom. The vivid imagery of being positioned on the sofa and the desperate calls to the metaverse create a vivid narrative that resonates with the bleak reality of the song's universe. The Original:
In 1991, The Magic Barrel, a pop combo featuring Soulful Noel (SN) and BovaKraft (BK) who formed in Glasgow in 1990, recorded a SN penned pre BritPop gem:  ‘Good Sense and Reason’.  

This song now gets a fresh breath of life in 2024!

At the heart of this track is an infectious SN keyboard riff, captured in a recent Magic Barrel 'jam' recorded on iPhone voice memo. The magic unfolds as this riff is sampled and integrated into "Trust and Decay," produced using GarageBand on iPad by BK.

The riff is sampled for Trust and Decay by playing the iPhone voice memo Bluetoothed through a Bose Mini- Sound-link mini speaker and received by GarageBand sampler setting as track 1! 

The track is produced on GarageBand on iPad with no midi, using built in digital instruments, drum programming and adding electric guitar parts through Boss/Roland effects and focus-rite Scarlett interface! 

The BovaKraft production carries influences from Kraftwerk, Adam and the Ants, The Human League, The Stranglers, Ultravox and Talk Talk with a hard hitting back beat inspired by Liam Howlett’s (Prodigy) genius thumping drum tracks. 

"Trust and Decay" is a testament to the enduring power of music and collaboration, bridging decades and genres to create something cool and new! 

Trust and Decay demo came to my mind in an instant listening to the voice memos life - I couldn’t record it fast enough! I might finish it one day 🤣 but wanted to share… 🎶 🥁 🎸
