My ninth time as a guest, my second time as an artist, my first time on the "Seebühne"... 

Like many others before me, I would like to thank you for this special edition of the Fusion Festival. Even though my performance was mainly characterized by thunderstorms and rain, afterwards I was just happy how largely peaceful and respectful it was on site. With all the criticism and political ambiguity in the world, I was very worried that in the days during the festival it would not be art but conflicts that would be in the foreground - fortunately that wasn't the case. I was able to enjoy many great DJ/ Live sets as well as interesting panel discussions. 

Thanks to everyone who was there despite the difficult weather conditions. But also a thank you to those who sent feedback and listened to the set now. It inspires me so much to believe in my own sound and not chase trends

South Africa is a magical place, full of wild landscapes and wonderful people.  This was my fourth time touring in the country, and what a privilege it has been.  Johannesburg and Cape Town offer very distinct experiences as cities, but ToyToy and Killer Robot have both curated similarly authentic underground movements over many years, and their hard work and longevity really shows.  

The energy on both dancefloors was passionate, raw, and deeply connected to the music.  Like the two cities, each party has its own unique vibe, but the common thread was a love for and knowledge of deep, hypnotic, underground dance music and an appreciation for the craft of DJing.  Both parties have a 'no photos' policy.  We need more of this please.  

Huge respect to the folks behind ToyToy and Killer Robot for their dedication to keeping underground culture alive, in the face of so many modern headwinds.  

Here are excerpts from both sets.  Cape Town from the earlier, clubbier portion of the night, and Joburg when I was winding down the garden in the wee hours of the morning after a wild four hour ride with their world-class crowd.

Do you remember the Housekeeping mixtape seriess?
I still remember!
I remember doing cover shoots for the series, various house slippers in different surroundings.
I remember keeping it simple, doing it for the love of the art.
And I still remember the first time I met the guy Lasmi and heard him play. This memory sparked the idea to revive the housekeeping series. So here we are with a fresh recording that will hopefully blow your mind like it did mine... 
Just the right reason to pick things up  where I left them a year ago!
