Up until recently Johannes Albert spent his weekends travelling through the German countryside. 
At his side will always be a bag of records guaranteed to make the club that is his destination go off that that night. Increasingly he finds himself in the air over Europe, Asia and beyond as word of his DJ reputation spreads. This should come as no surprise given the killer combination of running two of his own labels named Frank Music & Fine, dropping 12s on imprints such as Needwant and WHITE, the multiple well loved online mixes to his name and a host of genre spanning alias and side projects.

After the success of “Sinking Walls”, we are thrilled to welcome back Gullen with his next release on mobilee, “Shook EP”. This time he kicks things off with “Shook” and vocalist Name One, whose history includes collaborations with Adriatique, Hyperclour and Maxxi Soundsystem. His resounding vocals join forces with a flickering staccato lead to create an uplifting, light and spacious feeling that envelops the listener deeper within the sound.

“Annie’s Backyard” merges the vibe of 80’s electro with Gullen’s emotional tendencies, resulting in an energetic  experience for the body, mind, and soul; we are sure to make this the closing track when we can dance together again on a sun drenched rooftop!

Bside Incoming: Third Son

We’re certainly excited to bring you another episode of Bside Incoming, this time from a prolific producer and extremely talented DJ from London. Only seven years on from his debut release the impressive quantity of his output is only exceeded by its quality. A very warm welcome for Third Son.

His passion for music has always been at the forefront of his life, and his drive to create the best music he can undeterred. His father, a professor of music, ensured his classical training began from an early age. This served to bolster his enthusiasm with a deep knowledge of the art, and would later become very useful when his inspiration for electronica was sparked by Radiohead’s ‘Kid A’.

As evidenced by a huge array of releases, and this episode of the Bside podcast, his love for electronic music blossomed. His knowledge combined with his curiosity for the experimental elements of dance music never fails to impress.

Bside Incoming: Third Son

We're excited to bring you a new edition of the Lossless Mix series. 
Episode 4 is contributed by our good Dutch friend and compagnon @nunodossantos who took a warm, housey musical direction drawing a exceptionally colourful mix the @sohaso labelboss quotes like this: "...with all the uncertainty it felt good to look back and go for some proper house vibes"....and strolling along to the sounds and grooves of this mix, we can only agree with that.

Based long-term in Utrecht, Nuno Dos Santos is best known in the Dutch scene for his DJ residencies at the late, much-loved club Trouw (and its predecessor, Club 11), and for his label Something Happening Somewhere (SoHaSo), which he started in 2013. The label has a strong independent musical voice, with a strong hallmark on quality control, and releases only a few carefully handpicked records each year. Dos Santos also collaborates with Cosmic Force under the alias @ultrastation
Whether it’s running his own label, producing music or DJing, you can feel that Nuno is utterly in love with what he does. This mix for us is another great proof. Thanks Nuno for taking us on a fantastic journey!

Hans Nieswandt is a DJ, music producer, writer and lecturer from Cologne, Germany.  

...he is DJing since the early 80ies, very well known for his unique blend of Disco, House & Techno since the early 90ies. 

...he was writing for SPEX magazine since 1987, and was an editor there from 1990 to 1993. Many other quality magazines and newspapers in Germany published his essays and reviews. 

...he has produced at least eight albums and lost track of all the tracks and remixes he has released since 1992. 

...in 1997, Whirlpool Productions, of which he is one third, shot to Number 1 in the Italian charts with the now timeless classic "From: Disco To: Disco". 

...he published three books on DJ-Culture since 2001 ("Plus Minus 8" - Disco Days, Disco Nights", "Disko Ramallah and other strange places to play records at" and "DJ Dionysos - Stories From The Discoworld"), to great critical and public acclaim. 

...he had a weekly live radio mix show on popular german station WDR 1Live from 2003 to 2015, every wednesday at midnight. 

...he lectured at lots of universities, academies and what have you, on a wide range of popcultural topics. 

...he was artistic director of the Institut für Pop-Musik of the Folkwang University of the Arts from its opening in 2014 until the end of 2019, when he relocated to Seoul, South Korea. 

...and he keeps on keeping on.. ❤️❤️❤️
