Box Of Cats has always been a journey and boy has it been fun so far. We started in very humble beginnings only releasing our own records and then to signing young producers around the world and to now releasing music from our favourite artists and heroes of our own.

6 Months ago we started a mixtape series over our socials ‘B.O.T’ which stands for Box Of Trax. We wanted our artists to showcase what they love about music and Box of Cats. This means something different to everyone, so we wanted to get an idea of what that was and i think we figured it out!

We dont only release house music, we dont only release tech house, we dont only release BANGERS, but we do release music we believe in and that is not always the same ‘genre’.

So as a label for all shapes and sizes we have decided to make a new compilation series dedicated to the phat, skinny and everything in the middle. From that we welcome you to Volume 1 of the B.O.T.

Niklas Wiik aka NiQW has been a part of the Box of Cats family since the beginning of 2017. He was the 18th release on the label and since then has featured on our Litterbox compilation as well as remixing Eyes Everywhere earlier in the year. Not only this but he has had strong records on both This Aint Bristol and Night Bass also!

It seems like we just can’t get enough of this guy so we have a brand new EP from him containing 2 of his techno infused house jams. May we present to you the Intro EP.

‘Intro’ and ‘How’s That’ are both immersed in NiQW’s signature dark tones with his crisp yet raw sounding percussion. Both tracks really reach their pinnacle at the second drops where his synth work and suspenseful energy comes into play.
