As soon as we hit play on this new jam our hairstyles spontaneously bloomed into glorious afros and we all of a sudden knew how to do the funky chicken. Guess that’s just the effect The Sponges have on mere mortals.

Funkier than an episode of Seinfeld, Jerry Brain is absolutely jam packed with The Sponges signature cuts, synths, funky fills and cheeky samples. Energy’s at an all-time high on this one as the funky wunderkinds Nik and Ryan whip out the guitar, strutting through what has got to be the funkiest breakdown of all time.

It's amazing to have the duo back with the BOC fam. To be honest we here at BOC needed a break from them what with all the heat they’ve been delivering to us here at the label. We agreed to see other people for a while, but we just couldn’t stay away.

It’s time to rekindle this magical relationship, and Jerry Brain might truly be what brings us back together.

Box Of Cats has always been a journey and boy has it been fun so far. We started in very humble beginnings only releasing our own records and then to signing young producers around the world and to now releasing music from our favourite artists and heroes of our own.

6 Months ago we started a mixtape series over our socials ‘B.O.T’ which stands for Box Of Trax. We wanted our artists to showcase what they love about music and Box of Cats. This means something different to everyone, so we wanted to get an idea of what that was and i think we figured it out!

We dont only release house music, we dont only release tech house, we dont only release BANGERS, but we do release music we believe in and that is not always the same ‘genre’.

So as a label for all shapes and sizes we have decided to make a new compilation series dedicated to the phat, skinny and everything in the middle. From that we welcome you to Volume 1 of the B.O.T.

A long time ago in a galaxy far away lived Jedi. Their job was to keep the universe safe from the ever increasing threat of the Empire. Sadly, the Jedi were wiped out and the Empire took over the universe with its evil agenda. This left an unlikely duo from Miami Florida with no choice but to bear arms and strike the Empire head on.

This is really just a story of House Music vs EDM and how Nik and Ryan AKA ' @TheSponges ' took the world by storm with their hybrid form of catchy disco hooks and infectious house grooves.

After their first hit record "Make It Juicy!” which garnered support from Malaa, Jauz, AC Slater, Motez, Destructo, Aston Shuffle, Ardalan, Golf Clap, Marc Spence and many many more, the boys bring you their debut EP.

I Can Dance and Space Funk '75 are both in their own rights lead singles but for you, the listener, we could not hold onto these any longer. That would not be fair. As well as these, on the flip we have label boss Jeff Doubleu putting a dark twist on Space Funk '75. A real 4am jam.

Trying to convince you in a few paragraphs how unique this EP is wouldn't be enough. It would be like trying to convince a Star Wars fan that Jar Jar Binks deserved his lead roll in Episode I... But unlike Jar Jar, The Sponges are here to stay.
