Afro Vibes Session 4

On the occasion of this hundredth release "BOXON MAKES ME SUNNY" from Boxon Records, the boss of the label, Julien Minet, wanted to bring together on the same compilation tracks that smell good of the sun.

After the success of the four compilations released previously, Boxon this time turned to international producers (Belgium, France, Italy, South Africa, Hong Kong) not yet signed to the label (De Gama, Mebara Sao, Hallex M, etc.) as well as to relatives or artists already known to the house (Lois fr and Fruckie, Lithium, etc.).
Jamais2 opens the tracklist with their composition “Mangrove” perfect as an intro. Dj Soso then joins forces with Team Complex and Thabo Gallano to create "Ishe Wemakiyi", a sweet Afro-House title already dancing. Belgian artist Mebara Sao continues to make our bodies ripple with "Douala", full of percussion, exotic synths and precisely placed female vocals. Then it's the turn of the funky De Gama to heat up the dancefloor with the superb "Tropical Boogie", a title rich in Afro and Latin sounds. The Bordelais Lithium continues with “Soul Africa” which, embellished with joyful vocals, remains just as percussive and catchy! De Gama returns with “Cosmic Safari” and its Dub sounds, a real journey of more than 13 minutes honoring the Disco-House with, as guides, elegant funky brass instruments. Accompanied by Manashe Music / Uthando / Ulethu, and again by Team Complex, Dj Soso gives us a warm and full of love, resolutely summery title: "Summer Love". Label buddies Lois fr and Fruckie have won their bet by composing “Zambia”, more Club oriented with its analog instruments and soaring vocals! Just as dedicated to the dancefloor, “City of Birds” by Fab From Toulouse takes us to the heart of Africa with its lyrics responding wonderfully against a background of sunny groove. Hallex M then arrives with his efficient production "Okap" mixing Tech-House beats and Afro sounds. Nnuspaper brings the tempo back down a bit by delivering "Yanahéou" in a Dub and groovy spirit. Then it's the turn of Tim'so from Bordeaux to take us into Trance with "The Wall of Happiness", a more minimal but just as convincing piece. Also a little trancy, “Sway” by artist Jykso sounds good Deep and its melody is rather intoxicating. This compilation finally closes with the title "Waza" whose frank percussions and groove do not fail to leave us indifferent.

Lux Montes» de Sovnger à l’efficace «Shoe Shining» de Spaam, en passant par le mélodique «Encelade» d’Adrarion, la tech-house groovy «Game Code» du projet Aert Prog, la compilation réunit des artistes déjà signés sur le label au côté d’autres découvertes.
Une ambiance conviviale que l’on retrouve tout au long de la compilation avec le morceau disco-club «On Disco Street feat. The Woodhead» de Prosper & Adam Polo, les synthétiseurs analogiques de Leonard De Leonard sur «Do You Get More», les guitares de Lemon Peel sur le titre «Love Love», sans oublier la participation de Frederic de Carvalho au projet avec «To- Get-Her», Loïs Plugged & Fruckie avec «Cntrl On», ni le dancefloor avec «Urban Bug» de Gooseflesh et les productions entêtantes de Nicolas Cuer & Sebastien Bayle.

BOXON ALL STARS (compilation). The label is releasing its fifth compilation (after the successfull Boxon Makes Me Happy, Boxon Makes Me Crazy, Boxon Makes Me Bloody, Boxon Makes Me Alive, ndlr).
From the ambient and well produced «Dead Head feat. Lux Montes» by Sovnger to the effective «Shoe Shining» by Spaam, through the melodic «Encelade» by Adrarion, the groovy tech-house «Game Code» from the Aert Prog project, the compilation is presenting the works from artists already signed on the label with other discoveries.
A friendly atmosphere that we found throughout the compilation with the disco-club track «On Disco Street feat. The Woodhead» by Prosper & Adam Polo, the analog synthesizers by Leonard de Leonard on «Do You Get More», the guitars by Lemon Peel on the title «Love Love», not forgetting the participation of Frederic De Carvalho to the project with «To-Get-Her», Loïs Plugged & Fruckie with «Cntrl On», neither the dancefloor with «Urban Bug» by Gooseflesh and the heady productions by Nicolas Cuer & Sebastien Bayle.
With all these fantastic tracks and artists, the BOXON ALL STARS compilation is a real treat hearing.

After piling up exciting collaborations in the past months with the likes of Florian Meindl, Andrew Claristidge, Chris de Luca, Humantronic and more, leading him to create slow bpm dark club music as well as emotional deep house, rough on the edges cold techno or spoken word drone, Berlin’s favorite french beard is back with his new solo EP “Tom Tom Club”

Created with a wide variety of analog and modular synths from his collection, the 3 track-EP is the return to Leonard’s signature energetic electro-house sound, driven by gutsy basslines, witty bubbly melodies and catchy use of cut-up vocals.

On remix duty, Leonizer’s new addition, the Tokyo-based producer Sovnger, delivers a rough remix taking “Do You Get More” into dirtier darker techno territories, while Bon Temps Records co-founder Verlatour brings a touch of cinematic retro-pop to “Be Be Be”.
