Well, a little about Antjuan "BoxOnThe Beat" Pennie, I'm originally out of the city of Inglewood where my production all began. I started messing around with making beats due to the fact my uncle played and still plays the drums for West Angeles Church of God & Christ. Watching him and his brothers attack every instrument, it always sat in the back of my mind that I wanted to do something in the field, but I just did what every other kid does which is attempt at something and then just move on. It wasn't until I hit junior high school that I started making beats on the table for the freestyler's to rap to in class. This then turned into me making beats in high school on the infamous fruity loops and keeping the beats I made only to myself and a few chosen friends who lived on my block. Like I said before, this only lasted so long and it was back to other things. Once I graduated from high school I picked it up again and made beats on my PlayStation with this CD that I forget the name of and only let my girlfriend now wife hear only. She bared with the tragic beats I made on the CD but continued to push me to keep making beats. It wasn't until I made a track for one of my boys that introduced me to another friend of his that had an indie label that I began producing for that I then took it serious. Fast forward to present day it has been door closed and opened for me on my production, but I stand on my production. Having worked with a few heavy names that I got under my belt, I have arrived to a place with my sound now that I am more than comfortable with sharing my creative mind with all of you who listen. I continue day after day to find new sounds, VSTS, DAWS, equipment, mixing and mastering techniques and more to bring a sound of my own to the world to hear once allowed into your speakers or headphones. I go by BoxOnTheBeat but I'm far from being trapped in a box on my sound and production as well as outlook on this wide spectrum of music in general. Take a listen to my production and if you like it buy something, and if you don't, at least you got to hear something you can say I wasn't feeling rather than just riding the same wave you hear everywhere else.
