From his real name Claes Frowein, Bplrxxiii (bipolar23) is an artist currently residing in Quebec. He began production in 2010 inspired by the tekno movement that swept France. Moving later to Canada, bplrxxiii discovers a more interesting sound for his taste in idm style, broken beat, juke and anything near or far from experimental music.

After having released a first ep in the genre idm on the Montreal label "on the stick record", then another ep and several singles on the label "full con record", bplrxxiii was able to integrate the idm landscape of Canada. In 2017 he discovers a real revelation in the native and shamanic rhythms, sincerely believing that he can act in certain specific parts of the brain. He will begin his exploration in the Peruvian jungle to record native jams with his family. But a deep attraction for African rhythms allows him to reach a unique shamanic trance that exists only in Central Africa. This is how he began to sample rare grooves to transform them to his electronic sauce with idm variants.

His way of looking for sounds is to be attentive to what surrounds us, to create repetitive movements. Each sound must have a precise resonance in his heart and mind that will remind him of certain memories and sensations of his childhood, a bit like prenatal nostalgia.
