BPM Media is the professional name of an otherwise anonymous singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer who is making his professional solo recording debut in 2021. The Hawaii-based self-taught musician wrote his first single nine years ago. However he has chosen not to release it, until now.
“Chronological Genocide” is the debut single from BPM Media, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 21, 2021. The song is an apocalyptic poem set to a cool Lo-fi groove. An ensemble of guitar, bass and drums weave a chill organic mix of Psychedelic Rock, Blues and Indie Rock. The rhythm section lays down a mellow funk as a haunting slide guitar creates a bluesy Alternative Rock mood reminiscent of Mark Sandman’s Morphine and Treat Her Right.
Recorded in one take, BPM Media delivers his manifesto. As the song’s laid-back groove progresses, the singer slides back and forth from a melodic vocal to a cool spoken-word rap. With the rhythm and style of a Beat poet, BPM calls the masters of commerce into question as he paints a grim portrait of a world born of greed and oppression.
