The Essence (2020 Freeverse)

Season 2 begins with a recall of how Season 1 started two years ago: Me flowing over a Giggs track.

Years became a wake-up call crescendoing

Only this time my bliss is not remembering

When burns have served purpose, let's stop referring to bridges

Lost awareness completely whether it's day or night -
Creative late, but then at work is when I pay the price
This phase of life, I've completely retracted interest
From any family business, and friendships that's left untended

0 Kelvin once removed of friction, cause doubt's an affliction
Grew laconic, detached from women insisting it's love
I'd forgive you if it was but it's not enough

My values different now
Outgrowing circles I couldn't sit around

Stoicism's my spiritual armor, when I played my role

Remembering the first time

The track came out of a quiet summer night spent with my favorite record player and a few dusty old vinyls. Just a bit of nostalgia for the good old "Dusted Wax Kingdom" days.

Another year in the life, constant reminders
To be grateful, and don't be wasteful with time
Whatever it is making you do
Ask yourself: are you changing the times? Or are they changing you?

If both, nevermind my rambling
My limited understanding holds my answers for ransom
All I'm left with is questioning shit
Which is infinitely better than repressing my depression

And my well's dry of coins so I'm wishing for a session
Even though I know my issues aren't special
And neither am I, come to think of it
Age withered away any vain exceptionalism

So I, wrote this piece for, when I depart
I'll leave more behind than a shattered meek heart
The love of friends caused the battery to recharge
And the accolades I've attained really never seemed important

But this is all just in hindsight
And I'm just going off of feel, it's a blind flight
Would seem a genius if I'm right, if not
Nobody will even notice, they're just flying to the light

My projects have been mothballed
Motherfuckers in my ear like "record more", and I'm like "what for"
Didn't care when I dropped it, so I'm like "fuck y'all"
When numbers don't add up correctly, it's just a tough call

Friends leaving town, others stopped speaking
But I guess in 'Rona times, better than they stop breathing
Grievances I had went the way of summer season
So if anybody asks if I'm mad, I can't even

All I see is deceiving, believe half of it
Unless it's cash attached to it, your chatting won't add up to shit
Any morning I wake up with a gasp
I get afraid that it could be my last, don't even ask

I just wanna make sure that I'm living with love
And when you need some space to talk that I'm listening up
And I know full well that it isn't enough
But I'm just giving what I can, if it isn't too much

I'm tired, of hearing the constant cacophony
Of opinions, nevermind me if I seem to be quiet
I'm wondering whether my voice is truly needed
And some said it is, but I'm a skeptic to the reasons

I'm just a misfit wherever I'm cast
And ultimately, opposites don't attract, they just clash
Like desire for harmony with desire for growth
And the vanity of it all is the desire for both

Those were a couple thoughts that kept me awake
Like how much love and joy in my life, I just let get away 
But then regretting is a waste of a perfectly good time
And at the end of the day, I hope that everything will be...

As a Bulgarian producer and beatmaker, one of my passions is to unite the people by music – creating international global projects, collaborating with interesting and unique artists, all over the world. I am also co-founder of Drum Bassement – the first DnB radio show in the Bulgarian air and Trip-hop Laboratory (THL) – a radio podcast about trip-hop and alternative music.
