Written as a song of hope, but following decisions taken in an English court in November 2022, which mean Scotland has no political voice and is little more than a de-facto colony within the 'UK' - this is a song of defiance.

Bradford Price Project? What the hell kind of a name is that?

Never mind*. BPP is a progressive rock writing/recording partnership based in Scotland, UK, born from the chaotic implosion of longstanding and hard-working Edinburgh-based 4-piece Maya29.

Following that band's unspectacular demise (which involved a drummer who ran away and didn't stop until he was in St Kitts & Nevis in the Caribbean, and a guitarist who lost himself down the back of his own sofa), songwriters Karen B & Jon P retreated to their small and rather primitive studio in rural West Lothian.

And after much crashing about and waving around of arms (plus a bit of snorking) music began to emerge - interesting, occasionally obscure yet pleasingly powerful, emotive and uplifting music, newly unencumbered by consideration for the restrictions of live performance.

At the time of writing BPP is close to completing an album's worth of new demos, tackling a wide spectrum of burning contemporary topics including, bees, pigeons, old Japanese motorbikes and death/rebirth in deep space. Having brought largely unused material from their previous band (including demos for a 50-minute concept suite about the glory and fall of the Aztec Empire), it's clear BPP have no shortage of material & ambition to support their bizarre bid for notoriety, or absurdity, or whatever it is they're bidding for.

*If you must know, many wild and esoteric names were considered for this new venture, but it was only in the shocked aftermath of narrowly avoiding being called "The Salty Banana Project" that Bradford Price Project was born. BPP themselves feel that it demonstrates exactly the right level of overweening self-absorbtion that they feel the music  requires. And they hope you do too.
