Probably the first Souled song writen and arranged by myself and drummer Sean Hewlett.

Provision

Instrumental track I recorded around 1999.  The "bass" I used is an octave pitch shift effect on a guitar (that sounds like butt) but is all I had a the time.

Low Down

This is one of the first Souled songs writen and arranged with my drummer Sean Hewlett.  I re-recorded it with my drum machine 'cause we never could manage much from the old Fostex 4 track tape machine we used to have in the garage.  

Half Empty

A good friend of mine had this girlfriend that was really overbearing, but he thought she was really great, and I wrote this up after meeting her.  Cool riff I thought.  Heavy.  Auto-wah on the guitar with a noisey trem "solo" on it.  Fun!

The Girl

My favorite instrumental I've ever done.  You really hear the Satriani influence in this one.  Lyrical chourus riff that you find yourself humming later.

Birds & Fishes

I was just carried away with riffs on this track.  Was also listening to Megadeth's Youthinasia at the time and liked the long drum intro/outro that they were doing on that record, so I borrowed it for this one.  Wish I had a real vocalist on all my songs.

Old Jack City

I still like this one, has what I think is a sort of groove metal vibe to it.  Would love to track it again with a thrash type singer on it instead of dumb-ass me.

Level

Instrumental track for use as backing music for video production.  Recorded while I was at college around 2003.

Concrete Stomp

Rock instrumental.  I definately could have performed a better lead guitar lick for the verse and pre chorus riffs, but I'm not Joe Satriani.  Drums are a Boss Dr. Rythem DR660.  Guitars are through a Korg Pandora's Box 2.  Writen, arranged, and performed by Brad Gowan.

I would describe myself as a melodic thrash/heavy metal rythem guitar player.  I've been a hobbyist musician since 1991 and have played in several small bands.  My influences include Metallica, Anthrax, Joe Satriani and Sepultura.  I have a deploma in Multimedia production from Assinaboine Community College completed 2003. I've had the chance to open for canadian rock icons "Trooper" in 2003 in Red Deer, Ab.  Today I work professionaly as an ENG Photographer in Edmonton for a local television station.
