Hey Nitro Fam!

First off I just want to thank @cymaticsfm for the opportunity to enter this song contest. They do awesome work and we all know it :)

So this song is actually pretty special. I used it as a challenge to get myself out of what some could call a rut. 

The challenge was to use only sounds from the Sample pack provided and use as much of the pack as possible (without making it sound too sporadic) which isn't too hard, but I wanted to make it special, so I decided I had to encapsulate the spirit and theme of the Phoenix. And I had to do it all from my laptop in airport lounges and on the flight to Tokyo.

I accomplished most of this. I did make about 75% of the song while traveling from LA to Tokyo (finishing up in my hotel), and I did use almost exclusively sounds from the sample pack (However I did make one small piano part myself).

As for the theme, well that's what I really think I killed it on!
The song is constantly evolving and changing and rebirthing as something new. Each drop is a different style going from dubstep to Drum & Bass to Drumstep and each drop is markedly different from the last while staying cohesive.

I decided to name it "Hinotori" which seemed fitting as it's one of the Japanese words for "Phoenix" and made it while flying and staying in Japan.

I had shit tons of fun playing within the confines I set and seeing how I could fit things together. It was an awesome challenge and even if I don't win the contest, it was still a win for me ;)

NITRO HEIST - Hinotori (PHOENIX Song Contest)

This track is very personal to me. I worked many months on it to make it the best I possibly could. This was a gift to my girlfriend for our One Year anniversary. I got the main melody written right after she first went to school in another state. We just became long distance for the first time and it was very emotionally draining. This song is a reminder of the hope that eventually we would be back together. This song was also written in a worshipful attitude because I was very hopeful that God would make the best out of whatever outcome. Lastly, this song is a step into a more serious look at music, I never want to stop learning and progressing. This may not be the best song ever, some people may hate it, but it's personal to me and that's all music will be for me. Also, SHE LOVED IT!!!! <3
