Bridging the gap between japanese jazz legend, Toshio Matsura and Syrian Dabke King, Omar Souleyman was no mean feat. Initially I was at a loss of how to approach it, but after digging deep into the vaults, I suprised myself by how much music I'd amassed from the Maghreb and the Levant over years of collecting, travelling, collaborating and listening.
This mix, just under 2.5 hours, hopefully does justice to the great man who took the stage after I'd finished, to hundreds of screaming fans. 
It was an incredibly diverse night, and an amazing sight to see Syrian, Lebanese and african diaspora getting down together with the ravers under one roof.
