Ecstatic Dreams

he boys are back! After their initial collaboration cleverly named IGORI (an homage to the name they share), Cosmic G & Dakman returned to the studio. Dazzled by the contrasts of their surrounding and the most recent insurrection of society in their native country of Serbia, the two prolific producers dug deep into their past, in an attempt to disclose these contrasts through club music - using essential console entertainment of their kidulthood.

The four-tracker release bares the names of legendary video games, with the objective to marry the carelessness of the artists’ upbringing in the early 2000s and the current state of affairs, while subliminally pointing out the ill features that surround them.

First up is “Frozen Throne”, shaking up the place with a warm bouncy baseline and a tropical drum arrangement; cold vocal snippets and synth hits create a smart divergence of elements upsurging the tension in the break, before the warmth of the bass and groove overwhelms us on the drop.

Next off is “CS 1.6” the infamous tactical first-person shooter computer game, this time disguised in a wonderful, yet esoteric progressive house track displaying the joint signature sound the two producers are known for from their previous EP: positive backing theme is confronted by gloomy synth arrangements, and closed off with an oriental melody, all placed along a solid 90’s drum machine arrangement.

“Serious Sam” takes us on a voyage full of gated voices and pads: straight to the point, the almost-dystopian, deep, cut up vocal articulation is carried by a playful baseline and emerging one-note stabs, before it all evolves to a frisky chase of melodic components. As the game itself, this B-side is full anticipations and uncertainties - a guaranteed recipe for a busy dance floor.

Concluding this release is “Age of Empire (Burn A Bich Edit)” - clearly alluding to the political state, while cleverly placing a voice of a known figure of that milieu. Adding much more swing to the drum pattern, the track’s simplified baseline gives way to the melodic structures: the breakdown releases the full statement of the vocal piece, sending a message of hope and perseverance.

"The ‘A Routine Day’ EP is inspired by this sense of place, inspired by the timeless sounds of local producers such as Jordan Nocturne & Krystal Klear. The EPs title track is a cut of ‘lights up’ disco-house, combining percussive drum patterns, kaleidoscopic atmospherics and tasteful soul samples on a club finisher that will send the dancers home with smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes. 

‘The Last One’ opts for a heads-down approach; a cut of pulsating acid with plenty of moments for the dancefloor. The rough nature of the acid and the pleasant, odd-ball flavour of the atmospherics provides the perfect combo for absolute club chaos. 

‘Twitchin’ lends its name from iconic Belfast club night Twitch, who have been running parties in the city for nearly two decades. It’s the type of track that Scoobz ‘Sluggish Selections’ was created for; chugging electronics, Italo-flavour and reverberating synth-lines cast a nightmarish embrace upon its listeners, lulling them into the murky depths, before the EPs most emotive track arrives at its climax, with the Bicep-esque breakbeats and moment-building nature of ‘Arp Sailing’ "

Step into the forge of sound with ⛧ MΛCHINΞ RITUΛL XIII ⛧ — a relentless transmission of industrial techno, hypnotic minimalism, and subterranean trance from ApØtheØsis. Engineered for late-night immersion, this session fuses pounding 4/4 kicks, metallic percussion, glitch-infused synths, and droning atmospheres into one unyielding ritual.—best experienced in darkness, on headphones, at maximum volume.

Brad was born a music lover. By high school he was DJing backyard parties in Long Beach and had already become addicted to the latest 12" vinyl releases. His love and passion for cutting edge electronic music has not abated since that time.

Now a veteran of the West Coast rave community since 1992, Brad continues to perform regularly in the U.S. and Canada. His interest in the environment, yoga, and his philosophical nature are conveyed in his musical choices. He can energize any crowd with his seamless mixing, whether in a warehouse, intimate club, or out in the open desert. Brad defies classification by experimenting with a variety of musical genres, often cutting between techno, minimal, tribal, progressive, acid house, and breaks. He blends many intricate soundscapes to create the flow and funkiness that is essential Brad. His eclectic mixes take the listener on a musical journey where time and space seem to disappear. Using the language of music to unite and celebrate the earth and humanity is Brad's goal. Brad has been a resident DJ with Southern California's legendary Moontribe Collective since 1996.
