NVST means nothing but trouble with the  Stop Violence Motivate Violence EP. Not asking for permission nor for forgiveness, the Swiss artist continues with her unapologetic electronica, uniting gritty textures, coarse breaks and implacable statements in a dog-eat-dog world.  Anticipating a beat that has no rival in a fist-fight, Breakos Blancos moves slowly, murky like a dark tide claiming back its piece of land. 

The EP is the last addition in the Serious Trouble label, run by Benedikt Frey and Menqui. A grainy 3-track release, including a caustic remix by Frey, that brings the political back to the center of the dancefloor and the conversation.

PREMIERE: NVST — Breakos Blancos (Falling Callmesnoop DJ Interpretation)

As if he were in a strange recurring dream, each night he awoke at the same time, disturbed by the crashing waves below his lodgings. No matter the season, as soon as night fell the sea seemed to have a mind of its own; murky black depths that threatened to drag you beneath. But it wasn't just the water that stirred a fear deep inside him, something else strange was at play here...

Rinse France resident Clad launches his new label, GRID Records, into the world, with a compilation called 'Improvisations'. Like the name suggests, he brings on board friends and affiliates, including E-Unity, Realitycheck, Troy Gunner, C.Coiffure and Théo Muller, to deliver tracks that explore new sonic paths and divert from their normal output. Like the concept itself, Clad took an instinctive approach to putting the compilation together, not overthinking or over-polishing its final format, instead appreciating the contributions as they are: "beautifully human".

OS Premiere: Ronan - En La Malla [Eternal Ocean]

A heartbeat franctic like a drum.  An amalgam of frequencies that fill up the chest. Built-up emotion dissolved in a solemn feeling of peace. NVST joins the upcoming compilation Dancefloor Memories with a very sensitive take on her breaky, caustic sound. 

The album is the second release on the Swiss label Proxima Records. It came together in the absence of dancefloors, filling up all the empty spaces our bodies couldn't share anymore. The release is out on December 14th, with history repeating itself. But we will dance again.

The second of a triplet on Fine Grains for the Surrey-based producer, Herman. Four ruminating low-end constructions with the heads down crew always in mind. With clubs starting to re-open, the ‘Narcissus EP’ lands at the perfect moment. ‘Sol’ takes on a heady mix of tribal drums, haunting distorted vocal snippets and teasing breakbeats. And this is the essence of the ‘Narcissus EP’, as we go further down the rabbit hole into Herman’s world of deep myoclonus percussion.

Herman’s tale is furthered with remixes by two exciting emergent production talents - Holloway from the UK and Zohar in the Netherlands. The emphasis remains on drums, slipping into some classic d’n’b flavour with Holloway and a powerful modern breakbeat re-shake from Zohar (her first ever remix). ‘Narcissus’ is a call to arms for a return to those dark and sweaty nights we once shared with strangers on dance floors and dingy basements across the globe. Let’s get back to it.
