Earlier this year I had the pleasure of recording a few of Lucinda Dewachter's students. She's an awesome vocal coach and a few of her students opted to participate in her Summer Bootcamp. Bart Schirmbeck is one of those students. He performed a piano based version of the song "Jealous" by Labrinth. It moved me to tears and I hope it does the same to you.

There's a group of talented people in Utrecht I've had the privilege to work with for a couple of years now. They're called VOISZ Vocal Projects. I've mostly been their live sound engineer, but in recent years recording them has become a very rewarding part of the process too. I've recorded and mixed a couple of tracks for them this year but this live recording of them performing the James Blake song "Retrograde" (arranged by Tim Quak) from a while back speaks to me and to the pure quality of their voices. One choir, one space, one take,13 microphones.

Born in the rural south but now living and working in the middle of the country. Studied guitar, sound engineering, and production at the Rockacademie in Tilburg. Now active as a musician, a producer, and a sound engineer. I also build guitars at Aristides Instruments.
