Corona Freestyle (MIA) was released on October 2, 2020 in affiliation with Spinach Records. The song was created from an adaptation of a freestyle that was done over the beat produced by Ciro Mont, a producer based in Italy. After seeing the death and destruction that Covid-19 caused in Italy, juxtaposing his arrival to the US in March (when restrictions hadn’t been in place), looking at the mishandling of the virus response and the increased awareness of social justice issues (namely police brutality) Sherrod saw an opportunity to write a song that would: 1). Raise awareness on the recommendations issued by the CDC to handle the Coronavirus; 2). Shed light on various major, socially impactful events that have taken place in 2020; 3). Create a song that is both relevant and listenable well after this period of time. Enjoy, comment, like and share!!
