so this is 98 to 100 percent guaranteed the identical kind of sounds i hear when i play computer games that commonly use engines like Unity or Unreal, or any engines made on their level.  sometimes when graphical changes occur on screen, the noise will modulate a little more or a little less.

I run my audio using M-Audio BX8 studio monitors (never did it on the first generation, these are the second generation), and my graphics card is an nVidia GTX 1070.

how i was able to flawlessly imitate this using modular synthesis (and i know 0.001% about modular synthesis) is beyond me.

an experiment that turned into a full song composition.  unsure whether or not it will move forward to a song performed on stage or whatever.  i feel there's a little work that can give it a different twist and feel more accurate to it's title (whether that's a temporary one or not).

a dark concept of sorts, but with a chorus that has a polarizing feel of sad but hopeful to it, in a sort of twisted way.

one of my first experiments with orchestral/symphonic instruments and metal combined.  has been played live several times, usually sets a good mood.

somehow this magically happened right after watching Ghostbusters.  odd circumstances bring out odd things in some people.

The Future Is Now (feat. David Kirsh)

felt a hybrid of retro, upbeat, and sci-fi horror noir with this one when i started it out.  the final product impressed me enough.

Machine Rises

not entirely completed, but the ideas are in there to play tetris with.  this should be finished during the Fall/Winter 2018.  the weird 18/8 or whatever meter in there definitely is a curve ball by intention.

Atmospheric Decay (v2.31 demo)

fully programmed, but i know/feel there needs to be a little extra movement with the rhythm guitars in the verse parts, considering how crazy the song itself was meant to go.  first experiment with interplay with Harmonic Minor and Harmonic Major with the Harpsichord/Piano solo/arpeggio thing in the middle.  felt it needed the Major to give it a somewhat subtle twist to uplifting or hopeful, possibly even a false sense of the two.

Solar Tempest (v2.51 demo)

after listening to a lot of the original Quake 1 OST, i set to experiment and learn a few things about sound design and how to potentially imitate things done by other musicians and composers.  this test felt like a success in my eyes, for using what tools i had, compared to having access to a couple of tools i'd have preferred using to achieve the result i originally wanted.

Halls of The Damned

an experiment with symphonic/orchestral arrangement stuff.  didn't go anywhere but is an idea i'd like to flesh out sometime.

Migration (demo thing)

a sort of dark ambient score concept with some electronic elements thrown in.  sort of like a horror movie or a psychological thriller.

inspired by the Metroid Prime soundtracks.  i'd like to finish this top to bottom with a new approach while keeping some of the same sounds and vibes.

01-11-2019 (demo)

Decided not too long ago to start exploring covering music from video games again.  With a new DAW (Cubase 10 Pro), I think I'm going to explore that more, considering how it was significantly easy to pull tempo automation for the piano intro.

The final product will definitely vary from this, and be a longer rendition with more definition.  Until then, this is basically the start of another thing I've wanted to do.  Maybe I'll get lucky to play MAGfest with it one day.

Terra's Theme [FF6 demo test]

New computer came in after months of a problematic self-build restricting the ability to do anything.

First thing I did musically revolved around this as a theme, originally on 3 guitars (rhythm, octave harmony, and finger-tap respectively per guitar)

The idea itself made the brain think "what would it sound like if it was done in a cinematic kind of style?" and this is that result.
