Lisbon-based DJ and producer, Enchufada label head, Red Bull Music Academy alumnus and Buraka Som Sistema co-founder Branko is getting ready to present his first solo album to the world. On his most recent musical voyage across the globe, the multifaceted producer dove into some of the most exciting music scenes in the world, connecting and recording with a a whole new generation of musicians and artists to create 'ATLAS', the debut album that iscoming out on September 4th and available for pre-order on iTunes. 
 
After revealing several album tracks over the past few weeks, including the afro-house burner Eventually, zouk bass-meets-R&B anthem Let Me Go and futuristic baile funk hybrid Take Off – and even gave an off-album cut for free to celebrate his Boiler Room album release party – the globetrotting producer introduces yet more geographical and musical coordinates to the party with On Top (feat. Zanillya, Capadose & The Ruffest), an ode to the lively rhythms of Suriname with a splash of South African afro-house that fully exemplifies Global Club Music’s hybrid nature.
 
As Branko explains, Zanillya and Capadose (formerly known as THEprinceOFbeatz) played him an idea they had for this track months ago, which left him “super excited to develop it into a full-fledged song for ‘ATLAS’”. After recording vocals and developing the track at the Red Bull Studio in Amsterdam, he took the project with him to Cape Town where he met kwaito kings The Ruffest, who laid down vocals to add their own flavor to the song. Finally, the last touches were added when he recorded a 13-people vocal choir for the breakdown, an experience the producer described simply as “magical”. The end result is a track that is the perfect snapshot of an album that fully embodies Branko’s approach to music, as he brings together modern club sounds with a pop sensitivity and a cultural edge, while simultaneously bringing down geographical and stylistic borders to create something completely unique.
