hi. happy october - its weird how time flies. this is my first stab at an original track. i've been working on this for a while now and it's been 99% done for well over a month. the mix and master aren't great (absent), but i finally got it to a point this week where i think i'm okay with releasing it to you guys. i had no clue how to even record into ableton when i first started this project and i think i've brought this a long way lol (for those of you that heard the early versions). thanks for everyone who listened and gave feedback, you are the homies. i'm looking forward to making more tracks and improving upon this. i have a lot of ideas, now to just find the time...

Kays shot us a demo of this song a few weeks ago and I listened while walking around the Vegas Strip, I can't explain how instantaneously I fell in love with this song, something about the movement captured my heart. I can explain it best as a story of time and progression in life, the track grows and builds and finds where it belongs even if it isn't where it was expected to go. Kays breaks some norms and wins some hearts with "Liberate."

Stingray

The Austin based producer, guitarist, and Emmy-winning musician, Derek VanScoten, better known as Cloudchord, has been strategically curating his sound over the years. With infectious guitar solos, and expert productions, many have said that his music crosses through genres of indie, electronic, lo-fi, jazz, shoegaze and more with ease and creates a style that is all his own.

Now, he returns to the plate offering up a funky fresh rendition of Bronze Whale’s “Gold Grain,” featuring Jet Horns, which will also be included on the remix EP dropping in July. The original had a very electronic presence, with bouncing synths and crisp percussion, whereas Cloudchord’s remix chills out the track a bit, while maintaining enough energy to keep your head bobbing and foot tapping.

A soft rhodes piano rings behind Benny’s signature topline, as Derek slowly builds energy and anticipation, while he gently leads you into smooth guitar ladened drops. Birds chirp as the bassline effortlessly grooves along, creating an ambiance you won't want to miss.
