Gargleblast Records are extremely proud to announce the release of ‘Wolf’, the astounding debut single from Kung-Fu Jesus.

‘Wolf’ b/w ‘Wander’ is released digitally on Monday 25th August 2014 and is the first single to be taken from Kung-Fu Jesus’ debut album, Celestial Gold, due this winter.
 
The Kung-Fu Jesus narrative starts in a Lanarkshire village where a musician and writer sought something more than the claustrophobia of a place most notable for its jam factory. 

Global adventure beckoned. His path to enlightenment led to the South American jungles and a psychedelic Ayahuasca ceremony, during which two things happened: His worldview irreversibly changed and he fell in love.

His travels continued across the globe, but his relationship imploded on the way, leaving him alone in a tiny room in Taiwan, with only a guitar and electric fan as company. During this time he penned many of the songs for his forthcoming album before returning to Scotland. 

On arriving home he contacted long time friend/producer Andy Miller (De Rosa, Life Without Buildings, Foxface) to start the recording process. The two formed a close working relationship, developing his sound into the expansive sonic rainbow of Kung-Fu Jesus as we now know him. 

With vocals front and centre, direct in their delivery Kung-Fu Jesus comes on like a Celtic Johnny Cash, there’s no bullshit here. Accompanied by enough bleeps and burbles to remind you that this is a very 21st century hybrid, ‘Wolf’ maintains a zen-like focus on melody with it’s, “Is my love real or am I just the boy who cried wolf?” refrain striking like a deadly throwing star.

Kung-Fu Jesus expands, “The song ‘Wolf’ is about my celestial brother who's been on the darkside of the moon for God knows how long and we forgot who each other were until recently and we woke each other up on holiday and now we're partners in crime, and he happens to be a celestial wolf when he's not in human form. Truth is much stranger than fiction or so it seems…”
