A MESSAGE FROM THUNDERPUSS:
Almost 24 years ago, the Thunderpuss remix of Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right but it’s Okay” was released and became the version that was universally loved and played on the radio, on MTV and throughout clubs around the world. We were so fortunate to be a part of what was regarded as Whitney’s big comeback album, “My Love is Your Love” in 1999, and coming full circle, we once again are blessed to be part of the continuing legacy of one of the greatest voices in music history. Thunderpuss has not worked together for nearly twenty years, and it’s hard to think of any other artist who could reunite us. After one listen to her incandescent 1994 live performance of “Don’t Cry for Me,” there was no doubt that we needed to be part of this project! We knew something special had once again dropped in our lap and that we would treat her performance, her vocals, and this song with the absolute respect and grandeur Whitney deserves.

I’m deeply honored and humbled to be “invited to the party” to, once again, contribute to the incredible legacy of the one and only diva, Whitney Houston. From the moment I first heard the acapella of “Don’t Cry for Me,” I knew in my heart this was a really special performance and perfect for the movie “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” I truly feel this is a magical record, and I was thrilled to do a Thunderpuss production for her. We will always love you, Whitney! It was great fun working with Chris again, with a lot of laughs along the way, and reminded me of why we became good friends back in the early 90’s.

Our work with Whitney was a transformative cornerstone of my career, and consequently, the music we’ve made with her has connected with so many people.
