Canadian breaks producer Propa Dropa joins Toast & Jam with his new track Save The Rave. Out of the first drop we are introduced to the syncopated bass line that sits under some very nice kick, snare, and percussion elements. From here Propa Dropa transitions the bass from short and syncopated to gritty and sustained, and along with the ‘Oh my God!’ vocal loop, the effect is nothing short of bone-rattling. After upgrading to Ableton 10 I needed a starting project to get my head around it.
I started this as just a bit of fun to get used to Ableton 10 and things started to move along quite nice so I pursued onwards with it, I love the music from The Mandalorian so much, they took many risks with this and it paid off big time.
The composer Ludwig Göransson did such an incredible job to make something so original and so refreshing but still fits perfect in the Star Wars universe, it’s a masterpiece.
The tempo of the original theme is more in time with Drum & Bass, it actually started as a Drum & Bass remix of the theme but my first love is Breaks so I slowed things down to the bpm I love the most, re-wrote some of the melodies I wanted to use and added some Bobalino flavour.
While I was writing I kept hearing Mjölk’s voice in my head, so got in touch and as always, she delivered some beautiful haunting vocals to complement the vocals I had already include from the series.
I hope you enjoy; it was a bit of fun to play around with the things I love the most, Star Wars & Breakbeats.
Massive thanks to Mjölk for these beautiful vocals (new original stuff coming in 2021 from us) and a huge thanks to Rick Tedesco for sorting out the master and being patient with me to get it right.
