Second State will drop its next various artists' compilation this summer featuring 12 artists from today’s techno scene, showcasing their individual sound and production skills. The 11 tracks each incorporate elements from techno sub-genres to create a varied and intoxicating release from the Berlin imprint, welcoming Second State regulars and new names alike to continue paving the way for the label’s sound. 

Returning to Second State is Yotam Avni, who opens the record with the dynamically layered ‘Panic’. The breakdowns of this track switch up during its flow, varying in intensity as it progresses. Valentinø and My Flower hasten the pace with ‘Lightfire’, packed with minimal drumwork, booming bass and phased bursts of ethereal keys. Up next is Simon Stiglmeier with a piece of kaleidoscopic techno in ‘Dancy’, complete with a grooving vocal synth. SOTO follows with enveloping bass and rippling synth waves in ‘Core’, whilst Techno live band Komfortrauschen power on with a warbling bassline and whirring atmospherics with ‘Each Second’. 

‘Subconscious Reset’ from Juliet Fox contributes a barrage of alarms and sharp, chilling synths that echo menacingly throughout, followed by Isabel Soto with pulsating cut ‘Momentum’ - a stripped back, down-tempo roller. Gutto Serta takes listeners down a rabbit hole with trippy cut ‘Maximize’, with airy pads whispering underneath bleeps and a sultry vocal sample. Building the record to crescendo is Dextro’s booming and raucous track ‘Omonoia’, with razor sharp hoover sounds and an earth-shattering kick & hi-hat combo. Maintaining the powerful energy is Daryl Stay with his propulsive weapon ‘Phalanx’, followed by the final track from Avision, ‘Tunnel’, featuring playful synth and acid lines that bounce over the phased percussion, and a shift in pitch to build the track’s intensity.

“Genius Loci” is the title track for Lucas Nuedling’s upcoming EP, which will be released on Revised Records on August 19th. The four-track EP, ‘Genius Loci’ contains four loopy & hypnotic techno tracks with groovy basslines that are all made for the dancefloor. 

The name 'Genius Loci' was inspired by a lost place in eastern Germany, where Lucas recorded many sounds that were infused in every different way for each of the tracks. For Lucas, the goal was to create a homogenous vibe and transport the spirit of place into the music.

Berlin based DJ & producer The Reason Y follows up his contribution to the recent KPAINS3 compilation album on Kneaded Pains with a full solo release for the label.

The ‘Synaptic Transmission’ EP lands on Dense & Pika’s imprint and pulls together three new tracks of hypnotic and raw techno.

Unlock the power of ‘Inverse’ with London-based, Italian DJ Uakoz with his two tracks “Inverse” and “Your Way”. Developing a strong passion for music from a very early age, Uakoz started self-teaching himself how to play drum machines and explore free music software after being hypnotized by Techno and Minimal beats. Having built music production skills in his hometown, in 2011 he decided to join the SAE institute in Milan to sharpen his technical skills as well as deepen his knowledge of music. 

As his productions have earned him recognition from various well-known DJs and established labels, Uakoz now makes his way to the Berlin-based label OFF Recordings which houses fellow DJs Andre Crom, Ben Champell, Drumcomplex, Oliver Deutschmann, Sisko Electrofanatik, and Simina Grigoriu.

I'm a retired City Worker from The Brantford Ontario Works Dept of 34 years of service,
I was 9 years old when I started taking drum lessons with the Ontario Conservatory Of Music,
I taught drum lessons and played in a band that played blues, country, 50's, blue grass,
I started making playlists at the age of 12 years old (1975) Pioneer Turntable, Cassette Deck, Receiver & two 50 watt Speakers.
