It’s been 5 years since the inception of 1985 Music and over that period it’s grown a family of exciting underground producers as well as a celebrated back catalog from artists new and old. With this release, the label remixes some key tracks from the archives.

Y2K saw the release of Total Science’s anthem ‘Champion Sound’ Hardcore Will Never Die remix. Lurching into a new millennium, with promises of system meltdown, the end of civilisation as we know it and all other sorts of madness, its dissonant and edgy feel captured the moment perfectly. And consequently it was almost impossible to go to a Drum & Bass rave and not have this soundtrack of 2000 pummelling your eardrums then, and also ever since. 

Seen as one of the defining tunes of the genre, it has now spawned it’s own spinoff series, ‘The Hardcore Will Never Die Years’ remixes. Promising several remixes of some of the duo’s most seminal tracks from the early 2000s, from some of the biggest and best producers in the scene currently, we can now be assured of a whole host of new dancefloor weapons. 

And starting the series in true style is Break, with his ridiculous remix of ‘Squash’. A massive tune in it’s own right, ‘Squash’ was always going to need a serious working over to be bettered; and if you could trust one man to do it, it would be Break. Keeping all the original elements, brining them up to 2022 standard and then injecting his own trademark to proceedings, we are now left with everything that is good about this music in Y2K22.

Crystal Clear is back with a major bang! We are very proud to introduce the 'Fire In The Hole' EP.... four absolute heaters 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.

These explosive tracks have been doing serious damage in our sets over the last 12 months. We've been getting a lot of requests for them, in particular, 'Temper' and 'Kung Fu Hustle' which really popped off during our set at Origin, Boomtown 2023.

'Fire In The Hole' sets the vibe right from the jump with eerie synth vibes, tough drums, serious bass pressure and gritty mids. "Burn it up like fire in the hole!"

Next up we have the monstrous 'Temper' and this one has a tendency to kick right off! Don't say we didn't warn you... "Baby's got a temper"

"My style is the best.... let's see what you're made of." The third track on the EP is 'Kung Fu Hustle' and this one has been shelling everywhere! Serious amounts of energy, a very catchy hook and a thunderous drop. "He's a cold blooded killer!"

Last but by no means least is 'Controll' and this one is absolutely naughty. A tense, moody atmosphere leads to stomping drums and undulating waves that carry you up and down on a sea of heavy bass.

Louis Parlant AKA Speaker Louis was born near the French city of Marseille, but has lived in London since 2016. As a teen he played in various rock, punk & hip-hop bands, before accessing DNB via sound system music, Reggae, Dub & Dubstep around 2010. He cites his biggest influences as old school jungle, hip hop, classic reggae, punk rock; everything from Shy FX to The Clash.
Passionate about bringing French DnB artists to the fore, Louis has released with Hyperactivity Music, Dub Shotta, Yamatai Records, and some forthcoming material on Jungle Mania - he now brings us…The Dangerous EP.


Title track ‘Dangerous’ is a fierce jungle rolla, hitting heavy with with Yorkshire Raggamuffin Parly B the MC and artist who spans Dancehall, Reggae and DnB, ‘Underground’ is a massive slab of crisp but dirty speaker destroying badness, ‘Make Then Run’ is proper rave wobbler with Natty Campbell, the DJ/MC who’s worked with Reggae Roast and recently re-located to Amsterdam. The final track, ‘‘Real Badman’ features Jungle Cakes stable mate G-Class and comes with the deepest, nastiest bassline you’re likely to hear all year.
