While the other Gold Coast kids listened to Top 40 tracks on their Ipods on the school bus, Bree De Rome had her playlist full of the greats of the 50s and 60s- Johnny Cash, The Kinks and The Zombies. This may have made her a weird kid at school but has paid off in droves for influencing her unique style as a singer/songwriter. It emanates in everything she does, with mellow delicate vocals similar to Patsy Cline and instrumentation similar to The Zombies and The Kinks to her dress sense, Bree De-Rome is a sweet songstress from a by-gone era, here now for you to enjoy.
Her debut single, ‘Better Luck’ from the forthcoming EP “Bag Of Bones” is about a day of terrible luck and following superstitions to try and break the cycle which, unintentionally, was recorded on Friday the 13th. Produced by Tony Buchan (Thelma Plum, ) and recorded with the lads from Deep Sea Arcade,  the single features the big horn section reminiscent of the girl groups of the 60s, coupled with Bree’s sweet-as-sugar vocals.
