Breeze Records officially relaunches late this August with BRE010, a stylish and hard-hitting EP from none other than the talented Yoteii. These bass-heavy tunes prioritise a slightly different style for the young producer, with highlights including The Shadow Monster which flickers and moves utilising warped synths and gurgling basslines. Ratchet Man and No Choice hark back to the older jump-up riddims of Dominator and Ego Trippin whilst staying true to Yoteii’s creative sound design. Finally, Creatures is reminiscent of a Skantia or Simula tune with an unforgiving bass, a snare that's even harder (we don't know how he's done it), and a gnarly half-time second drop. Breeze have got so much in store, and this is just a taster of what’s to come.

Our eleventh label release comes from Para, providing a heavy, steppy, jump-up infused three-track madness. This EP is your friend who turns up to the party drunk, pours shot after shot down your throat, and then passes out in the middle of the living room; but doesn’t give a f***. Aggressive and in your face, yet playful all at the same time, Para hits you for six with his signature bass sound in ‘For You’. The stuttered bass hits are accentuated with a guttural drone that is guaranteed to mash up the dance. ‘Knock’ harks back to Para’s jump up roots, a sub-driven unique jump-up riddim sampling The Rocky Horror Show that is sure to crumble any system. The final tune is a collaboration with Willow, another up-and-coming producer making waves in the scene. A further horror film sample is used here, this time from the Blair Witch Project, and the minimal build is followed by warped synths that match the terrifying feel of the track.

Para himself is making waves at the moment, with his most recent release on Helix, the Hypnos EP, causing a stir on Juno. Signed to the label, he makes sure to let us know that he has a lot of respect for them and everything they’ve done for him as an artist. As a producer he gained attention in the scene in 2019 with his bootleg of Mae Muller’s ‘Leave It Out’, as well as a previous release with his Helix family. Unfortunately, the global pandemic has meant Para hasn’t had much experience playing sets, but Breeze is looking to change that in the not-so-distant future. This young Bristol-based producer is just getting started on his journey in the scene with his heavy jump-up and minimal vibe, and we’re gassed to have him on board for a release with us; as well as some future music down the line.

With a release on Bagged and Tagged as well as DJ Mag ‘Best Breakthrough Label’ nominee Invicta Audio, there is no denying that Formula has opened the year with a bang. Backed by ALR, he offers two tunes of epic quality, sound design and production value. The first, Stranger Danger, is a unique jump-up banger with an intro full of suspense that gives way to a rolling drop that will furrow your brow. Following in the footsteps of Serum and Hexa, this song carves its own lane in the heavy hardware-driven jump-up banger category. Wasp Season, the B Side, shows the result when both producers combine forces, resulting in support from Noisia and a play on Vision Radio. The song jabs you in the arm with its rich synth stabs, closely tailed by an infectious rumbling riddim reminiscent of an angry insect. As Dave Columbo Jenkins put it, this is “a properrrrr stinger” of a tune.
