For the last installment of Canela En Surco we had the great honor of having John Talabot as Nohj Atotbal in our home studio. The brains behind Hivern Discs as well as one of the people closest to our friends and supporters Discos Paradiso since they began; a friend of the radio show, and above all, a man that has spent his whole life searching for records and learning how they should be played.

This episode is a great example of exactly that; a master lesson in selecting and mixing that left us speechless for over two hours. Now we want to share this mix with all of you as a celebration of our 100th episode.

Con motivo del programa número 100 de Canela En Surco tuvimos el gran honor de contar con la presencia de John Talabot como Nohj Atotbal en nuestro estudio casero. 
La cabeza pensante de Hivern Discs es también una de las personas más cercanas a nuestros patrocinadores y amigos de Discos Paradiso desde los comienzos de la tienda; amigo del programa, y sobre todo, una persona que ha dedicado su vida entera a buscar discos y a aprender como deben ser mezclados.
Este programa número 100 de Canela En Surco es un claro ejemplo de lo aquí mencionado; una lección maestra de selección y mezcla que nos dejó con la boca abierta durante más de dos horas, y que desde aquí/ahora queremos compartir con todos vosotros a modo de celebración de nuestro 100 "cumpleaños".

The release party for the long over due 10th release on Studio Barnhus -  Richard Sadface "Sad But True" - took place at Hosoi, a high end listening lounge at the At Six Hotel in Stockholm on Dec 16. It turned in to a reggae rave, the mezcal was flowing and Richard was most happy with the vibes. Enjoy!

Norway's Prins Thomas is a giant of an artist whose influence looms large over the whole of the Scandi-scene.  The space-disco king has a sound that draws on electro, krautrock, psychedelia and prog in melodically majestic ways and has given rise to a wealth of fully realised studio albums and classy dance floor singles, mostly on Smalltown Supersound. His latest record, 2019's Ambitions, is one of his best: it found him strip things back and reinvent himself once more over the course of plenty of gently absorbing grooves and mindful moods.

As a DJ he is just as well equipped to take you on real dance floor odysseys built on ever present grooves, but coloured with melodies from the celestial realms. And that is the case on his 90 minute podcast for us, which journeys through frosty northern tundras as well as twinkling night skies with equal elan. The ups and downs along the way are subtle ones, but together they create something perfectly escapist and somehow very suited to this time of year.
