As a DJ, a part of the Unabombers and as promoter of the legendary Electric Chair nights, Homoelectric, Electric Elephant Festival and Homobloc, Luke Una was not only contributing massively to Manchester’s 80s and 90s club scene but still carries a deep passion to share his music in clubs around the world. He is the curator of seminal compilations such as the Electric Chair and Electric Soul series as well as his latest É Soul Cultura project and label.

This Session was recorded for "Kasheme Conversations", an interview series from, with and for music lovers. This month with Luke Una.
In our conversation, Una shares what caused his relentless pursuit of music, why he would not call himself a record collector and why he is, as he calls it, so evangelical about music.

An artist to whom we have been paying special attention to for more than two decades (buying his records and of course visiting and revisiting his sets in order to study them), Andrew Carthy aka Mr. Scruff has given us the best gift imaginable: letting us share with the world his incredible three-hour set from our sister label Escola Records' party at La Paloma with Pau Roca, Breixo, Ivy Barkakati and Oniria Sister this past Three Kings Day (January 6th). (Thanks Andy!!)

Known for his bold mixes, changing genres, times and latitudes, always with exquisite consistency and otherworldly skills, Mr. Scruff took the controls of Ecler's new WARM4 to give a three-hour DJing lesson that we can share with all of you today thanks to his generosity.

Spring time haze, a follow on from the winter warmers mix we did for you last time. 

It’s something that ebbs and flows softly, giving off that fresh optimism of a new season but nostalgic still. Lots of light bokeh and vintage tones if it was put to film, hah! I also wanted to do a mix that felt timeless, making it re-listenable and ultimately very enjoyable tone-wise.

Longtime friends and musical collaborators Max Essa and Eddie C just joined the RNT fold, with their new 4-tracker of melancholic and exquisitely produced chilled out disco.

Begun as a lockdown project, the 'We Live In The Hills' EP explores a vast palette of sonic soundscapes, from the shimmering guitars and acid lines of Melon Stepping, to the insistent rolling bass and whimsical synths of Save Me, the deep funk of the EP’s title track, and the late nite driving soundtrack stylings of Sixth Bridge. This EP tells a hopeful story of emerging from isolation and doubt, like a lovely musical sunrise after a long dark night.

To celebrate the release, Max Essa hopped on his decks in Tokyo to make his RNT Podcast debut! He shifts through many of the tones that inspired 'We Live In The Hills', as well as material from the EP itself, while harnessing records from friends & family around the globe for 90 minutes of bliss.
