Damien Riba recently posted this jazz take on  Gershon Kingsley's 1969 tune, "Popcorn". Damien was gracious enough to allow me to add some additional instruments to his already wonderful track. I went for a "fim noir" style feel in my arrangement. I hope you enjoy it!

“I’ll Be Seeing You” was composed by Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal. Published in 1938, the song was inserted into the Broadway musical Right This Way, which closed after fifteen performances. Much has been said about the resemblance between the tune’s first four lines and a passage within the theme of the last movement of Gustav Mahler’s Third Symphony. It was re-introduced in the 1944 movie also titled I’ll be Seeing You, starring Ginger Rogers and Joseph Cotton. The emotional power of the song’s theme, and its powerful lyrics became an anthem for those serving overseas, during World War II. The recording performed by Bing Crosby became a number one hit that year.

CHEERS TO THE OLD..BRING ON THE NEW (IMPRO)

The world of financial services in various forms has been my occupational zone for more than thirty years. I felt at a very deep level my life was in need of a change.  Over the last ten years my friends, many clients and former colleagues suggested that I try voiceovers, due to the sound of my voice. After thinking it over I dismissed the idea
However, my love of reading, especially with expression is truly enjoyable. Also participating as a volunteer reader with children for a number of years was also equally satisfying. There were times I would find myself “in character” when arriving at the office. (Smile)
Last year I found myself thinking about the voiceover field again and began doing some research. During that time a dear friend and I decided to attend an orientation meeting at our county public access station. It was there that I discovered voiceover classes would commence in February and April 2014.
I enrolled in the April classes. It was during the first class which entailed reading exercises, creating and recording our own commercials, that I felt I had found my niche. The classes were challenging as well as gratifying. My incredibly gifted instructor provided tremendous motivation and great information.  In May, I received my voiceover certification from the Fairfax County Public Access Station.
A new journey begins. Here we go…….
