Insecure Lover

BrenCanty - Singer, Songwriter, Musician and Producer

Born in London to Irish parents.

Brendan first caught the musical bug crawling inside the family gramophone and playing with the electric's. It resulted in a lifelong membership of the curly hair club. 
He chose drums as his first instrument before switching to guitar in his early teens. 
Mum bought him an electric from Woolworths. It cost £20. 

He was fired up by Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Tamla Motown and the great music he heard on Radio One and the Pirate Radio Station's Radio Luxemburg and Radio Caroline. 
He has played Guitar and Bass Guitar with lots of bands over the years. Some of those he has worked with include Yellow Bell and Rhythm Rising, featuring the great band leader and drummer Steve Laffy. Brendan has also worked with The Laughing Buddah's a popular Rhythm and Blues Band. Others include MOT'O the World Music outfit and Manna-Live, also with Steve Laffy. Brendan has also worked with the late Nico Korner, guitarist son of Alexis Korner. More recently he has played Bass Guitar with The Guy Tortora Band.

Brendan loves the Guitar and admires those who play economically and with feeling. People like BB King, Peter Green and Paul Kossoff. he also likes to listen to Jazz Guitar players like Kenny Burrell, Joe Pass and Ernest Ranglin.Andre Segovia and Paco Pena are other favourites. 

Brendan says he is blessed and cursed with the need for music. Blessed and rescued from loneliness because he can always turn to the guitar in times of trouble.
Cursed because he believes he will never be good enough. And so it goes. The only road to travel on. Believing that music can heal like no other.
