Ach, ich fühl's

Brenda Belohoubek is an clasically trained singer residing in the Greater New York Area. A New Jersey native, she is a bi-coastal performer specializing in opera, operetta, and crossover. Belohoubek’s vibrant energy, warm vocal quality and glistening coloratura has earned her various roles including Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Sophie (Werther), Frasquita (Carmen), La Novizia (Suor Angelica), and Amore (L’incoronazione di Poppea) with Stony Hill Players, New York Opera Forum, Eastern Opera of New Jersey, New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, and Opera NEO. In addition to the more traditional operatic roles, she has sung some more obscure repertoire including Olga (Fedora) and some crossover Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore) with Amici Opera and Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company. She also sings contemporary opera, having created the role of ‘Lisa the bargirl’ in Robert Butt’s The Cask of Amontillado with The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey in its world premiere on March 26, 2014. Belohoubek has participated in several programs and festivals including the Michigan Opera Theatre YAP, OperaFest New Jersey, OperaWorks, and Le Chiavi di Bel Canto with the Texas Music Festival.

Outside the opera world, Belohoubek also sings extensively with The Village Carolers, a traditional Dickens’ caroling group, and is been the featured soprano on their website and official CD “Sing We Now of Christmas”. On Thursday evenings, she can sometimes be found sitting in for a set at Arturo’s, a local Italian restaurant where her father Axel has a solo Jazz, Blues, and Rock piano act.  In addition to her singing, she is the owner of BB Studios: a private vocal, flute, and piano studio. She also teaches the after school adjunct vocal program at Ramapo & Indian High Schools, and teaches voice and piano with TakeLessons.com and Lessonface. Belohoubek is also an ESL instructor with VIPKID and a freelance model in the Greater New York Area.

In her leisure time, Miss Belohoubek loves to go hiking, is an avid outdoor adventurer, avid reader, ballroom dancer, and a huge animal lover as well as being a world-traveler and seasoned cruiser.
