A new DJ Mix for 2010.  All Techno and almost all Detroit Techno.  This mix has a lot of long blends and is full of energy.  One of the favorites that I have ever done and is definitely the hardest mix I have ever put down on tape.

This set was performed using Traktor, Maschine and Guitar Rig by Native Instruments, an Allen & Heath Xone K2 for looping and effects control, and mixed on my favorite board - the PlayDifferently Model 1. Brenda is a Chicago-based techno artist. She is A&R for Format Recordings, resident DJ and co-producer of their weekly techno podcast series, Format.FM, and joint curator of the Format underground warehouse event series. In 2023, she became a resident DJ at renowned dance club, smartbar, in Chicago. 

A classically trained pianist and saxophonist, her expansive understanding of structure and rhythm allows her to draw inspiration from all kinds of music, from soulful jazz to dark, gritty drum and bass. Brenda’s talent for laying down everything from pulsing ethereal beats to jackin’ stompers demonstrate her versatility all while maintaining consistent themes of darker, harder, hypnotic techno.
