The Eclectic Collective – composition

This song began with Josh coming up with the fonky-ass bass line and sharing it with everyone else. First up to bat was Ken, of course, who really matched the idea I had for the bass perfectly and gave it some flavor, too. Once we had a rhythm section solidified, Tez jumped in with the Kruangbin inspired arpeggios, and really gave the whole thing the flavor that it ended up with. Scotty followed soon after with his melodic/rhythmic leads that match his awesome vocal melodies. Next up was Stephen, who laid in the fiery solo towards the end, as well as some really trippy e-bowed guitar throughout. Then JJ came along and lit it up with his electric piano and synth. Finally, Chris came forward and added the distinct, exciting guitar intro. 
  Of course, we needed someone to produce and mix it, so we asked Tez to handle this one, which he did with his usual high wizardly magic. It is very gratifying to all of us to have Chris back in the mix on this one, as well as some upcoming releases, as well. This was the first time any of us has collaborated with Scotty, and we are thrilled that we finally got a chance. He's a creative, driven, and very agreeable musical partner, who's willing to work with us until we all get it right. We all hope this is just the first of many with him involved. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

Bio Short Version : singer songwriter, producer
Bio Long  Version : I am a singer, songwriter, and producer currently but always temporarily in San Diego, California. I 've been writing my own songs, playing the piano, singing, and using midi for, let's just say, a long time now . (Who needs numbers at this point?) 

I started using Cubase some time in the 90's at Bucket Baker's studio on the second floor of Castle Music in Santa Barbara, California which I would rent to get access to his midi set up. I would work all day at a full-time job, come home exhausted, cook dinner for my family, then go to Bucket's studio to use the midi gear. I was hooked from day one! Castle Music is no longer there and I've lost touch with Bucket, who by the way was/is a killer drummer.

I record and program all of my own vocal, piano, and synth parts and have a team of super talented musicians and engineers who help me with the other parts.  If not for them, this music might not have been possible.

Let's see, what else is there about me? I really do use mantra cards and I have sticky notes of lyric, song ideas, and self-help inspirationals kind of everywhere. I'm told I can be pretty bossy, I think I probably have ADD, OCD, and a few other things, and sometimes I interrupt people when they are talking to me, but then who's perfect?

Oh dangit, and one more thing. I'm constantly being told I'm loud. What can I tell you? My mom was Cuban and we Cubans - even half Cubans - are LOUD! I talk loudly, I laugh loudly and I also cry loudly. Not apologizing for this anymore!

My discography consists of 1 single release called My Home and my upcoming 13-song album which will be released on July 26 this year.  WooHoo!!!! So basically a discography of, wait for it, wait for it, ummm, 2 (as in two)! My family is particularly happy about the album release for reasons I will share some day but let's just say, I was happy to finally lock down a date and to share that information with them.

The responses to my first album so far have been very very positive, even from strangers so I am hoping to reach more people and to know that people are enjoying my music. So on that note...
