Montpellier-based artist Gipsyan (@gipsytrax), known for releases on XXIII, Nehza, TraTraTrax, and JEROME, to name a few, joins RUTA’s free download series with “La Discoteca”—a track that toggles between broken rhythms and four-to-the-floor propulsion with effortless flair. Saturated bass and razor-sharp percussion shape a sound that’s chaotic in all the right ways: a peak-time weapon built for dancefloors that thrive on unpredictability.

It’s the second installment in RUTA’s 2025 free download series, and a release that extends Gipsyan’s prolific presence in the ongoing conversation between UK bass and all things percussive.

₪ "Spiral Club Cuts is an EP made with the club in mind, but without formulas. These are tools I use in my sets, some created alongside Mexican producers, with rhythms of my world side. Maybe it sounds like some kind of bass music, pop, and mixed with sadness. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really know how to make club music — I just try to create something I’d be excited to play on a big sound system. It's a feeling," tells us Mensik.

₪ As well as with other Mensik's projects, you can hear this sentimental feeling you have after the party, after the festival. It's something cold, but also very dreamy. And living in Mexico City, and also touring and DJing across the world, Mensik is putting all his experiences into the music.

On top of numerous EPs, albums and the iconic 'PIRATA' compilations, influential Mexican label N.A.A.F.I has been also regularly enriching its catalogue with club-ready singles. It started with Lao & DJ Fucci collaborative track at the end of 2022 and since then the likes of WOST, DJ Juanny, Microhm or WRACK have all contributed to this explosive release series and the latest entry arrives courtesy of DNZA, Mexico City-based producer who cooked up an intensive track at the intersection of guaracha, hard drum and bubbling.

Three playful club weapons, each one stitched from unlikely fragments.

"Bbaarrzz" bends and stretches the voices of Gorillaz’s Saturnz Barz into something strange and propulsive.
"Ensemble Barrabas" fuses Ashanti’s R&B glow with a wiry, funk-driven bassline borrowed from Barrabás.
"Yankee goes to Rochdale" crashes Daddy Yankee’s vocal grit against icy Autechre-style zaps and synths, reshaping both into a sharp, late-night tool.
