Earthing

Thanks to @thebeautifuldark for the inspiration to make this song! 

His song https://soundcloud.com/thebeautifuldark/symbiosis-1 was a big thematic starting point for this track! His song sounds completely different, but that's how its supposed to be. If somebody starts making stuff that sounds like us, you better be sure we're gonna change everything!!!

Anyway, the song is mainly about how the simple AI algorithms of the last decade have already impacted us that it's naive to think that the super AIs of the future are gonna cause anything less than a complete shift in how our world works. 

One great example of the impact so far was the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya people in Myanmar. Contributed, in large part, by Facebook's algorithm (AI) that deliberately spread false information leading to the death and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.

Another example, though currently not so palpably catastrophic, has been political polarization in the west. Now, whether you're right or left, we don't give a shit. We don't like politics. But know that the posts you see on social media are particularly targeted at you to turn you into an "enemy". An enemy to who? Not even the AI knows that. 

Right now, the "dumb" AIs of our time have imprisoned every person who uses social media inside their own tailor-made, invisible CAGES - BARRICADED away from their supposed enemies (see what I did there?). And according to the current dogma, even attempting to interact with their "enemy" is Sin. That one specific mentality has single-handedly led to the worst atrocities in human history.

I don't know about you but it hurts me very deeply to see the indifference people are starting to show music with thoughtlessness. It is the job of true artists to passionately defend and spell out what makes musical character and how it moulds our culture and our individuality. Otherwise we are complicit in allowing a dystopian future unfold. FUCK THAT

I cried right through writing these words. I cried through playing the song. Some might look at that and think I should head for a looney bin. Here's the new normal....That's called real emotion and that's called showing people it's ok to feel it deeply and that's called not giving a shit about showing people that because we should not be afraid of our emotion. When we don't fear to feel then we find new power and music or new music we need to teach children to feel themselves and be honest with those feelings as they will find their true selves younger and EVOLVE
